What a great day at Bethel Church!

Not only has the entire campus been transformed for VBS this week, but we’ve presented multiple new members for 3 weeks in a row, including our new Worship/Family Director and family!

And the cherry on top was baptisms of these 2 new members! 🙌🏻

Some days I wake up and realize how blessed I am to get to do what I do! I am part-time pastor to an amazing local church, run a nonprofit retreat for pastors, manage our own Airbnb’s, serve churches as an independent consultant, and have been with VitalChurch for 3 1/2 years!

My first experience with VitalChurch was with our beloved Asian American Baptist Church in Dallas! What an incredible time we had there!

Now I am privileged to be in the diagnostic division with this amazing team!

This past weekend, I had the honor to lead the team in a full presentation for a church in Florida! I can’t tell you how blessed I am to be a part of such a professional ministry that seeks to guide, help and heal churches, through clear and biblical direction! 🙌🏻

Oh…and I do a lot of mowing yards on properties on the side! 😅

Yesterday, we kicked off our second year at The Retreat at Bear Chase! Our goal for this year was to open 30 weeks for pastors to come Rest, Recharge and Rethink. We prayed in faith not knowing, but believing that this goal would come to pass.

We began publicizing openings in January, and within 2 days we had over 80 applications. Since then, we have 26 approved couples, based on funds that we have! As we stand right now, we have 4 open spots on the calendar, with many pastors on the wait list and are projecting that those funds will definitely be there.

As I, (Rick) sifted through and vetted the over 80 applications, I was reminded once again why we do what we do. The stories, heavy burdens and struggles of ministry that are shared in the “Why do you feel you need this getaway?” section weighed heavy on my heart. Maybe because I can certainly relate and understand that you just can’t make some of this up! Also knowing that it can be difficult to know where to share those struggles.

We are so honored to walk alongside of the pastors and wives that come to the retreat, to listen, encourage and oftentimes see the joy in their hearts return.

We couldn’t be more grateful and excited about how year #2 is shaping out for The Retreat @ Bear Chase!

We have had 80+ applications from 17 states, from California to New York to Florida!

How badly we would love to host them all, but will be able to host 30 this year!

As we’ve sifted through the many applicants and heard their hearts (often weary) for their ministries, families and communities, we were so humbled, burdened and blessed all at the same time to be able to offer this getaway and knit our hearts together with many more new friends this year!
