💙🩶💛 GREAT WRESTLING PROGRAMS ARE BUILT ON THE MAT. GREAT WRESTLING COMMUNITIES ARE BUILT TOGETHER.
Every takedown. Every pin. Every hard-fought victory. Every moment our wrestlers step onto the mat wearing SEVERANCE across their chest.
Behind those moments is something just as important as the athletes and coaches — a community of parents willing to step up, get involved, and make things happen!
As we prepare for the 2026–2027 wrestling season, the Severance Wrestling Club is looking for parents who want to help us build something special for our Silver Knights!
🏆 WE HAVE FOUR BOARD POSITIONS TO FILL!
Our Girls Wrestling Team already has its two parent representatives committed, and now we're looking for:
🔵 SHS Boys Wrestling — 2 Parent Board Members Needed
🔵 SMS Wrestling — 2 Parent Board Members Needed
These aren't positions that require you to have a background in wrestling, fundraising, or nonprofit leadership. We're looking for parents who care about our kids, believe in what we're building, and are willing to roll up their sleeves alongside other families.
You don't have to know everything. You just have to be willing to be part of something bigger!
💪 WHAT DOES BEING A BOARD MEMBER LOOK LIKE?
Our club operates on an August–July school-year cycle, with regular booster meetings throughout the primary wrestling season.
As a board member, you'll help lead and support the initiatives that make our wrestling program successful, including:
🥇 Representing your team and helping shape the direction of the club.
🤼 Staffing the Wrestling Club booth and assisting with activities at home duals and tournaments.
🍿 Supporting concessions and other game-day operations.
🎰 Helping organize our major fundraising events, including Casino Night, the Beef Raffle, and the Takedown Classic Golf Tournament.
🤝 Building relationships with local businesses, securing sponsorships, and helping drive the fundraising efforts that support our wrestlers.
📅 Attending booster meetings and working alongside other parents to turn great ideas into great experiences for our athletes.
This is more than filling a seat at a meeting. It's having a voice, taking ownership, and helping create opportunities for our kids that wouldn't exist otherwise.

Not every parent has the time to serve on a board, and we understand that!
But imagine what we could accomplish if every wrestling family committed to helping with just a few events throughout the year.
One parent helping at concessions. Another working the club booth. A few families helping with a fundraiser. Someone reaching out to a local business about sponsorship.
Small commitments from a lot of families create BIG opportunities for our wrestlers!
We will be looking for parents to sign up for volunteer opportunities at the upcoming Winter Sports Meeting and the SHS Parents Meeting on November 4th at Severance High School.
Whether you have a few hours to give or you're ready to take on a leadership role, there is a place for you in this club.

This season, don't just watch the program grow. Help us grow it.
Don't just cheer for the wrestlers. Help create the opportunities they're wrestling for.
And don't assume somebody else will step up. Be the somebody who makes a difference.
Our coaches are committed. Our wrestlers are putting in the work. Now it's our turn as parents and supporters to match that commitment.
