Seneca Area Chamber/SDI

Seneca Area Chamber/SDI Seneca Area Chamber and Downtown Impact has been a Kansas Main Street Community since 2007.

We are dedicated to promoting, encouraging and improving the business, civic, historical and cultural vitality for the Seneca area! The Seneca Area Chamber/SDI is an organization through which businesses, organizations and residents work together for the common good of the community. Through your personal service and financial support, we can successfully promote, encourage and improve the life li

ne of the Seneca area. The partnership with the City of Seneca will strengthen the leadership for commerce and community development and enhance quality of life in the Seneca area. We have chosen to focus on the Seneca Area because Seneca is such a rural community we feel that it is important reach out to the businesses that are outside of the city as well because they are just as much part of our community as the businesses in town! It is our responsibility to promote the entire Seneca Area and in order for us to do this effectively we need to get the rural businesses involved in our organization as well.

🎉 Today we’re celebrating Executive Director Kylee Bergstrom on her 11th anniversary with the Seneca Area Chamber and Downtown Impact!

For the past 4,015 days, Kylee has helped lead projects, events, partnerships, and initiatives that continue to move Seneca forward. We’re thankful for her passion, leadership, vision, and ability to somehow juggle 47 things at once while still answering texts 😅

Thank you, Kylee, for all you do for our community, businesses, and downtown each and every day. 💜

It is SO great to see families, kids, and visitors enjoying Downtown Seneca. Our downtown is a place that brings the community together, and we want it to remain welcoming, safe, and enjoyable for everyone.

We appreciate the Seneca Kansas Police Department’s reminder about bicycle & scooter safety and downtown regulations. Main Street between 3rd and 6th Streets is a busy shared space filled with shoppers, diners, families, visitors, and local businesses. Please remember that bicycles are not permitted to be ridden in this area. Riders should dismount and walk their bikes through downtown to help keep everyone safe and protect the experience that makes Downtown Seneca special. Thank you for helping keep Downtown Seneca vibrant and enjoyable this summer.

Join us on Saturday, June 13 at the Seneca Free Library as we welcome Cowboy Poet Ron Wilson for “Ridin’ Trails and Writin’ Rhymes: Cowboy Culture of Kansas.”

Kansas played a major role in shaping the legend of the American cowboy, from the cattle trails of Abilene and Dodge City to the lasting impact of the beef industry today. Through stories, history, and cowboy poetry, Ron Wilson brings the culture and folklore of the Kansas frontier to life in a presentation that is entertaining, patriotic, family-friendly, and, as Ron says, “most of the time, it even rhymes.”

This special presentation is part of Seneca's MuseumFest and is made possible through Humanities Kansas as part of “By the People: Beyond 250,” an initiative of the Federation of State Humanities Councils and the Smithsonian Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage.
