We are entering our final week of collecting donations. All boxes will be collected on Friday, December 5, to facilitate preparations for our family shopping day on the 12th. The weather this weekend serves as a timely reminder that, in addition to toys, we also welcome winter hats and gloves.

🍂We have so much to be thankful for this time of year, and this season, we’re reminded how lucky we are to live in a community like Seneca, and how powerful the gift of giving can be.
We’ve put together a list of local causes and organizations you can support to help spread kindness close to home. 💛

Know another local cause we should add? Let us know—we’ll keep updating the list!

Sorry for the late post. I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. Our final group of children, is our smallest this year. We have 7 babies (0-12months), 2 boys and 5 girls. Toys for this age can seem pretty easy, but we do have some ideas, just in case. Tummy time mats, bouncers, teethers, rattles, soft blocks, just anything big and soft, because it will probably end up in their mouths at some point.

We’re moving onto the younger kiddos, our 1-3 year olds. This year we have 15 boys and 11 girls signed up. Good toys for this age are those that encourage sensory exploration, fine and gross motor skills, problem-solving, and pretend play. Think activity tables, building blocks, shape sorters, and musical toys.

Tonight, let's explore gift ideas for children aged 4-6. This year, our group consists of 18 boys and 16 girls. For this age group, ideal toys include open-ended building sets like Lego or Magna-Tiles, imaginative play items such as doctor kits or play kitchens, and educational toys including science kits, puzzles, and books. The best toys promote creativity and problem-solving skills while addressing their developing social and emotional needs.

This evening, we are targeting a group of 7-9 year olds, consisting of 15 boys and 18 girls. Donation suggestions for this age group are similar to those for the older children, but also encompass dolls and action figures. Lego sets, STEM kits, and craft kits are popular choices across all age groups.

With our shopping day rapidly approaching, we are seeking donations for our annual gift drive. If you are interested in contributing but are unsure what to purchase, we recommend considering gifts for the 10-12 year old age group, which consistently receives fewer donations. This year, we have 13 boys and 21 girls in this age range. Items that tend to be well-received include Lego sets, diamond art, craft sets, STEM/STEAM activity kits, board and card games such as UNO, and sports equipment.
