As Evergreen Paws Rescue transitions into our new home, we are exploring grant opportunities to help fund the renovation of an existing building on our new property into a safe, comfortable kennel and sanctuary space. We also hope to create a better outdoor playground with more opportunities for exercise, enrichment and socialization.

Grant funding is never guaranteed, so we are also asking our friends and supporters for help making this project possible. Donations will go toward the construction and renovation of our new animal space, playground and enrichment improvements, as well as our ongoing needs including medical and dental care, spay and neuter services, food, medications and everyday supplies.

Another important goal is providing more individual attention, exercise and socialization for our animals. Consistent volunteer help can be difficult to find, so we hope ongoing donations will eventually allow us to hire part time kennel assistance to give our animals even more hands on care and enrichment.

Every contribution helps us provide the animals who depend on us with the care, safety and quality of life they deserve while preparing those who are ready for adoption for their forever homes.

To our Evergreen Paws family and supporters,

We have some important news to share. Evergreen Paws Rescue is transitioning to Evergreen Paws Sanctuary. This change comes as I am facing health issues and a long road of recovery ahead, and it is time for our organization to shift into a new season.

Right now we have 8 dogs and 3 cats who will remain in our care indefinitely at our home, along with 7 more currently in foster care. Many of these animals have not moved or been adopted, some after two years in our care, and that is okay. Their needs, along with the needs of my family, are what guide this decision.

A few things that will not change. We are still a registered 501c3 and will continue accepting donations to support the animals in our care. We will still consider adoptions for animals who are ready for that step. What has always been true about our process remains true. We are picky about adopters, and we make no apologies for that. We require a vet reference, we require an adoption fee (because if the fee is a stretch, the ongoing cost of food, medical care, and other needs will be too), and we want to see the home and space where the animal will live. Many of our animals are skittish with new people or are still working through resource guarding or other behavioral needs, so this process protects them as much as it protects you.

A few things that will change. We will not be accepting any new animals into our care. And if I am tagged in a post asking about taking in an animal, please know I will not be replying or commenting. This is not out of unkindness. It is because I have to protect my own health and my family's wellbeing right now, and I hope you understand.

Thank you for loving these animals alongside us for so many years. Please keep me and my family in your prayers as we navigate this new chapter.

With gratitude,

Trichi
