Meet Julie !

Julie is an Artable Curiosities Volunteer, Board member, and the Head of the Fiber Department. She has been with Artable Curiosities since before it opened in 2022. She is a founding member.

She believes in Artable Curiosities mission and loves the impact it has on everyone and the environment. She enjoys helping people with questions, helping them find things and teaching them.

Julie says that Artable Curiosities has helped her develop lasting friendships, explore more art mediums, and the ability to help the community and the environment.

In her spare time Julie enjoys piecing quilts, painting, mixed media collage, surreal art, learning new things, antiques/vintage things and markets, estate sales, garage sales, loves spending time with family and friends, and a good cup of coffee.

How much plastic use can you reduce in your home ?

Simply put: toxic chemicals used in packaging are insufficiently regulated in the United States. And when packaging sheds microplastics into your food and drink—it’s leaching chemicals too.

Join us in calling on legislators to restrict plastic packaging now. People deserve safer packaging and stronger protections.

Artable Curiosities volunteer Michelle moved to Seguin in 2018 and recently retired, embracing this new chapter by spending more time with her family and enjoying the community she now calls home.

Michelle first visited Artable Curiosities in 2022 when she brought her grandson to create art and shop for supplies. Inspired by the welcoming atmosphere and creative mission, she soon began volunteering and became passionate about supporting the organization’s focus on reuse, creativity, and making art accessible for everyone. She believes strongly in the positive impact the program has on the community and enjoys being part of something that encourages imagination, sustainability, and connection.

When she is not volunteering, Michelle enjoys quilting, wool needle felting, and a variety of crafting projects. She also loves cooking for family and spending peaceful afternoons sitting by the water at Lake Placid with her grandsons, creating memories and enjoying the simple moments together.

Meet Becky!!

Becky serves as our Volunteer Coordinator and serves on our Board.

Becky Allen has been part of the Seguin community since 1992 and retired from Vitesco in 2021. She began volunteering with Artable Curiosities in 2025.
Rebecca was drawn to AC’s mission of supporting teachers through creative reuse and enjoys giving back while connecting with creative people in the community.
She says volunteering has helped her see new possibilities in everyday materials. Outside of AC, Rebecca enjoys garage sales, antique shopping, working out, and volunteering with her son.
We’re grateful for the creativity and community spirit Rebecca brings to Artable Curiosities. 💛

🎶✏️ SCHOOL’S OUT… DON’T THROW IT OUT! ✏️🎶

🎵 Pens and crayons, markers too…
Teachers next year can still use you!
Folders, spirals, paper stacks…
Bring them in instead of trash!

🎵 School is out, but kindness stays…
Help stock classrooms for future days!
Drop off supplies and lend a hand…
Let’s support teachers across the land! 🎶

Before you toss those leftover school supplies…
consider giving them a second life through Artable Curiosities 💛

This week we’re collecting:
🖍 Pens, crayons & markers
📚 Folders, spirals & paper
✂️ Any other school supplies

Your donations help keep valuable materials in use and make classroom resources available to teachers next school year through The Impact Project.

Because community-powered creativity doesn’t end when school does

Hello new friends! 🥰We’ve had lots of new followers lately, so here are a few things we get asked all the time:

📍 Where are you located?225 N. Saunders St. Seguin, TX 78155

🕒 What are your hours?
Wednesday–Saturday | 10AM–5PM

Teacher Room is closed to shopping for a bit.. (great reason- lots of new stuff))
However you still have the reuse shop for classroom stuff available.

🍎 What is the Teacher Store and what can teachers expect? Our Teacher Store is a free resource space designed just for educators! Teachers can shop a wide variety of classroom supplies, craft materials, office items, books, manipulatives, seasonal décor, STEM materials, and creative reuse treasures to support their students and classrooms.

Inventory changes constantly based on community donations, so every visit is a little different — like a treasure hunt for your classroom! Whether you teach elementary, secondary, art, homeschool, special education, or run an after-school program, there’s something here to help stretch classroom budgets and spark creativity.

How do teachers receive free classroom materials?Public & charter school teachers can register at checkout using a valid school or district email. Teacher resources are provided free through The Impact Project thanks to community support.

🎨 I’m not a teacher — how can I support what you do?
We use a “Pay What Feels Fair” community pricing model.

That means when those who can give a little more do, it helps keep materials affordable and accessible while also helping provide FREE classroom resources to teachers across our community.

Your contribution helps:
✨ Support teachers
✨ Keep creativity accessible
✨ Keep usable materials out of landfills
✨ Sustain workshops, programs, and community spaces

This only works because people choose to support something they believe matters. Thank you for being part of the woven voices that keep creativity, generosity, and community moving forward together. 🫶

Welcome to the world of creative reuse, Seguin & South Texas 💚
