Master Sergeant Peter Hamilton rose through the ranks of the US Army to earn one of the highest positions available to enlisted soldiers of his era. Born June 18, 1868, his career likely spanned decades of service, from the post-Civil War frontier through the years surrounding World War I.

Reaching the rank of Master Sergeant required years of proven leadership, technical skill, and the trust of both superiors and subordinates. Soldiers who achieved this rank were the backbone of the Army's institutional knowledge, training generation after generation of new recruits.

Hamilton passed away on September 5, 1927, at 59 years old, having devoted much of his adult life to military service. His long career of leadership and dedication deserves to be honored and remembered.

Few names carry the weight of frontier legend quite like Captain Jesse Lee Hall. Born October 9, 1849, Hall served in the US Volunteer Infantry and was celebrated as a Texas Ranger, known for his role in bringing law and order to the wild Texas frontier during one of its most turbulent eras.

As a Ranger, Hall pursued outlaws and helped establish order across vast stretches of untamed territory, work that required courage, grit, and unwavering resolve. His military service complemented a life devoted to protecting communities on the edge of the American frontier.

Hall passed away on March 17, 1911, leaving behind a legacy that blends military service with the storied history of the Texas Rangers — a combination that captures the spirit of the Old West.

Born in December 1846, Private Logan Goodpasture came of age during the Civil War and went on to serve in the US Infantry during the demanding decades that followed. His long life, ending on January 16, 1927, spanned enormous changes in America — from the Civil War through World War I.

Living to 80 years old, Goodpasture likely witnessed the full transformation of the US military, from muskets and horse cavalry to machine guns and mechanized warfare. Few veterans of his era lived long enough to see such sweeping change firsthand.

A life this long, bridging so much history, deserves to be remembered in full. Pvt. Goodpasture's service and the decades he lived afterward are a testament to endurance and quiet dedication.

Private George A Brown served as a Buffalo Soldier, part of the historic African American regiments that defined frontier service in the decades following the Civil War. These units, the 9th and 10th Cavalry and 24th and 25th Infantry, earned respect for their discipline and bravery under extraordinarily difficult circumstances.

Brown passed away on September 18, 1872, early in the era of Buffalo Soldier service on the frontier, a time when these regiments were still establishing the reputation for excellence that would carry through decades of service.

Buffalo Soldiers faced both the dangers of frontier duty and the injustice of a segregated military, yet they served with unmatched dedication. Pvt. Brown's place in this legacy deserves to be honored and never forgotten.
