Red Rose Inspiration for Animals, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to saving the lives of "RESCUE" animals in need.

Red Rose Thriftique -Upscale Artist Boutique and Thriftique Red Rose Inspiration for Animals, was inspired by a beautiful, beloved soul named Rosey. A Rottweiler/Pitbull mix, she was not only loving and loyal, but highly intelligent—she was a rescue pup herself. Rosey was always sweet and sympathetic to dogs that were suffering with emotional problems. She would give them comfort and help them to

grow their confidence. She has worked with various other dogs to help rehabilitate them emotionally before she passed from cancer. She touched the lives of those who loved her in a way that may never be the same again. Rosey’s spirit lives on and Red Rose Inspiration for Animals, Inc. has been developed and inspired in her honor to save the lives of various animals in need. We have two thrift stores in the Village of Oak Creek, Sedona, AZ as our fundraisers to support the organization. Guilt free shopping for a cause

Sweet Pea Pupdate

To the surprise of everyone at Village Veterinary Clinic she is cancer free. The mass and little masses were not cancer although they appeared to be by texture. The 2nd biopsy revealed the actual results as first biopsy was inconclusive. Special thanks to everyone at Village Veterinary in Voc for helping with this high risk surgery especially Michelle, Erica and Dr K.

Peas ekg at Village Veterinary showed an irregular heart beat and her body temperature dropped quickly from her first surgery the spay at Arizona Animal Hospital they had to quickly finish up and abort. Putting her under a second time was scary.

Sweet Pea is healing and becoming more lively. I can tell she feels better that mass of hers was very angry and inflammatory. Today she weighs in at 72 pounds. She gained 20 pounds in 4 months felt like eternity trying to put weight on this girl.

BACK STORY.. She was found in the backyard of a Sweet family who reached out to Red Rose for help. We took her in early December 2025 at an emaciated 52 pounds as it was obvious she was used for breeding multiple times either out of ignorance or on purpose and possibly dumped or she ran off in search of a better life. She certainly found it today.

Sweet Pea lived a life of neglect and abuse her hound ears needed medication for an infection and multiple baths to remove the smell of skunk. Thanks to Dee's Grooming in Camp Verde for her first two baths. She also needed supplements and quality food and treats to heal her bones, and joints thanks to Roxanne Genaro at Feathers and Fur Pet Supply

Sweet Pea had a lot of skin issues and allergies due to poor nutrition as she was given a very expensive allergy shot that allowed her to stop scratching like a Momkey every 5 minutes. At first we thought the baths would stop it then the quality food over time but it wasn't until the 4th vet visit in from Village they helped with that and her ears as it was frustrating cause the other 3 vets missed all that.

Thank you to our special team member Sheryl Murphy who donated various items for her and supported through the journey and helped with her expertise and experience in rescue as well as fundraising to support this healing for this sweetest girl ever.

Thank you to the artist who support our events at the Stagecoach Country Roadhouse in West Sedona. Wild Thyme Restaurant Group for hosting our events and the donors and customers of Red Rose Thriftique.

Here is beautiful Sweet Pea today as she has quite the wardrobe and loves wearing clothes and being taken care of as every dog should be

Some before pictures too You can literally see the worry on her face as she has wrinkles and scars on her face and ears to show a terrible life endured having to fight to survive not just physically but emotionally and spiritually

Sweet Pea Pupdate
She's been to Village Veterinary Clinic to remove compression bandage and she's healing beautifully. Taking it easy awaiting biopsy. Hopeful it's not an aggressive cancer if it is a cancer diagnosis. She's too sweet and deserves a life of love and leisure. Living outdoors having multiple litters and having to fight to survive was rough. She has plenty of scars to prove it

Huge shout out to Village Veterinary Clinic in the Village of Oak Creek in Sedona and Feathers and Fur Pet Supply

Village Vet just performed this very intense surgery for Sweet Pea. It was intense because she had multiple challenges with her heart rate with arrhythmia and body temperature that needed stabilization she was originally emaciated and malnourished at 52 pounds we had to wait a while before putting her under getting her to at least 70 pounds

She had one huge mass and two small masses. She was in surgery for 2 hours. They removed two masses having to address a third mass at a later date. It appears to be cancer will need to sent out to the Pathologist again to determine details. She should have been spayed early on instead of being used for breeding either intentionally or out of neglect and ignorance. This never would have happened. Please spay and neuter your pets.

Village graciously contributed to this rescue surgery offering Red Rose a discount.

Thank you Village Vet and special thanks to Michelle and Erica who took great care of Sweet Pea through her procedure. Two top notch technicians! Sweet Pea a fragile little soul but it was comforting knowing she was in good hands.

Prayers on her healing hoping she can finally live a happy, healthy, long life going forward as she deserves it.

We will address the other mass at a later date when she recovers and gets stronger.

Sweet Pea Pupdate

Sweet Pea had an urgent visit at Village Veterinary in Sedona this past Saturday.

Sweet Pea was spayed 3 weeks ago but during the spay her blood pressure started dropping drastically so they had to abort doing the mass removals and just finish up the spay and let her heal. Trying to put as much needed weight on this poor girl who came to us at only 52 pounds she's now 65 pounds. She's getting there but not nearly where she should be.

Today receiving compresses and cabbage leaf treatment trying to reduce swelling

Her masses were biopsy and sent to a Pathologist but we were told they were in conclusive. They have changed in shape, size and texture since the spay so she needs to go in ASAP to remove them. It's just plain sad that she was never cared for properly prior to us taking her in.

Back story

Red Rose Inspiration for Animals latest rescue. Currently in foster care with the Founder of Red Rose

We call her Sweet Pea cause she's just plain the sweetest soul.

Sweet Pea was underweight emaciated and malnourished at 52 pounds she should be at least 75 pounds minimum since she's a tall hound breed. She's got a large mass that a biopsy (results inconclusive) was done and few other small nodules that seem suspicious and had recently given birth and more than likely been used for breeding but has certainly had multiple litters and her spirit was broken. She doesn't know how to be a dog as her personality is somewhat aloof. However she's in the process of her whole body rehabilitation. Mind, body, spirit.

Sweet Pea has had 4 different veterinarian exams so far. Her most recent visit to Village they discovered her ears were also bothering her from yeast. She also received a shot to help with her allergies and antibiotics for her irritated masses.

Pea was on antibiotics in the beginning to see if the large mass would shrink which it did. She's been fully vaccinated in our care and had a heartworm test done negative results and full blood panel to make sure there's no underlying issues. Also a chest x ray was done making sure her lungs are clear. We believe she was either dumped because she had the large mass and was no longer good for breeding or was a reservation dog from the Camp Verde area near where she was found.

You can see she had a hard life she has scars on her face and ears and is missing some teeth.

Either way not an easy life. She has a sadness about her you can see it in her eyes but she's happy when it's time to eat she dances around and when you see her in the Red Rose Thriftique and people walk through the door she wants to say hello and greet as her tail wags. So sweet.
