"They analyzed over 3,000 police records to compare the recidivism rates between people referred to restorative justice programs and those who weren’t, but who committed similar offences. Although the two groups differed in age, gender and criminal history, the results were striking: only 12 percent of the restorative justice group reoffended compared to 75 percent in the control group."
