WORKSHOP/LAB TOUR IS TOMORROW! Sign up now!
Are you a 7th–12th grade student curious about how the world is built, powered, and programmed?
Join STEMTac Foundation and Seattle Science Lab for a FREE, high-energy virtual workshop where we move beyond the classroom and into the shoes of a professional engineer.
Date: Saturday, April 18, 2026
Time: 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM (PST)
Location: Virtual (Zoom link provided upon registration)
What you’ll experience:
The “Black Box” Challenge: A deep-dive dissection of a modern game controller. We’ll look past the plastic shell to uncover the “invisible engineering” that makes modern tech possible.
The “Mission to Mars” Build: Step into the role of an Electrical Engineer. You’ll use the Tinkercad simulation platform to design and test a smart, automated lighting system for a Martian habitat.
The “Failure Resume” Panel: Meet Al Herron (Electrical Engineer) Hear the “war stories” of engineering—from projects that caught fire to the creative breakthroughs that followed.
The “Level Up” Roadmap: Get exclusive insights into Seattle-based STEM opportunities for Summer 2026, including internships, maker-spaces, and how to join the Seattle Science Lab community.
Requirements: No prior engineering or coding experience is needed! You just need a computer with a web browser to access the Tinkercad simulation.
