We’re teaming up with HAPPY TRAILS ( ) + KICKIT26 ( .it.26 )to host the official kickoff of Seattle Summer Shine on June 13 at ArtLove Salon ( )

We’ve got a full day of fashion, culture + music planned ⤵️

IN THE AM: SEATTLE CREATES will be hosting immersive workshops + conversations exploring personal branding, styling, and runway confidence

IN THE PM: HAPPY TRAILS turns the energy all the way up with live entertainment, unexpected performances, fashion flexes + an elevated atmosphere celebrating the city’s creative scene in anticipation for the global games ⚽️💫

We’re bringing textiles to the lab 🧫

Next up in the Creative Exchange series, textile designer + material researcher Brenda Palomino ( ) joins us for “From Seaweed to Skin: Crafting Agar Bio-Leather”, a workshop rooted in sustainability and material innovation.

Step into a process that blends science + design and learn how to develop a flexible biodegradable bioplastic sheet from agar. You’ll move through each stage yourself, from formulation and heating to natural dyeing and casting.

Along the way, we’ll break down circular material systems, lab basics, and what it actually looks like to design with organic materials. Rethink the way you make and explore the ways that fashion + biology intersect

We’re heading over to Northend Makerspace ( ) with Eileen from .co for our second field trip of the year.

Come see what a local makerspace can do for you, catch a live CNC demo, and take home your very own egg coaster. 🍳🍳

Hands-on learning and good people all in one spot.

The field trip is free while the workshop demo to follow is: $20 EARLY BIRD, $30 REGULAR

We’re stepping inside Mikey McKinney’s studio () for an intimate look at what it really means to build a creative life—from textiles + soft sculpture to product photography + branding.

🎶 From vinyl roots to today’s algorithm-driven platforms, this session blends a live DJ demo with hands-on learning—covering set curation, reading the room, and how to actually build a vibe. But we’re not stopping there… 👀

We’ll also get into the strategy side on how to build an audience and create engaging content by leveraging social media + AI tools.

You guysss 🤩

We’re totally giddy after the fun we had with our friend Mikey (), the soft sculpture king.

👨‍🎨 We got to hear all about his journey living as an artist in Pioneer Square to putting our hands to work right alongside him.

💅🏻 Some of us got to build off of his iconic pieces while others made shapes from scratch. Such a sick opportunity to learn directly from the pros.
