Three Gatherings in Under 2 Hours: Low-Lift Hosting Ideas to use for Welcome Week or before! Let us know what else we should add for community-building, no-pressure-hanging in the spirit of connection.

We got too comfortable staying in, and saying “maybe next time.” We’re the Chamber of Connection and we want to help the US reconnect.

We’ve got plenty of ways to get involved:

• Join our Welcome Committee, where you build connection right in your neighborhood (comes with training!)
• Pledge invites during Welcome Week, September 26 - October 4.
• Come to a Best Day Ever this fall in Seattle!
• Host an event yourself (we have ideas on our feed).
• Do one thing this week that fosters connection, even if it’s replying to a text you’ve been putting off.

Wow wow wow. Sara(h)s, we see you! We loved following this Name Party journey, hosted by Sarah(!) Agopian-Khalifé.

Inspired by Aaron Hurst’s “Aaron’s of Seattle” dinner, she knew she wanted to do the same. We can’t wait to see how the Sarah-mony goes 🥹💕.

For the entire recap, find Sarah on LinkedIn. She’ll tell you which methods for attendance worked well, and how some ol’ fashion communication came out on top.

What do Ted Lasso and the US Chamber have in common? Pretty much everything but here’s a few:

Both think strangers are just friends who haven’t met yet.
Both believe the world gets better one conversation at a time.
Both know a team is built long before game day.
Both would rather build belonging than followers.

Community Builders: they’re just like us, and we love the partners who make their efforts possible.

Jon Monroe is hosting Mug Swap: Volume 2 at Bizarre Brewing, who will be donating $1 of every beer sold to Fred Hutch Cancer Center Cancer Research.

Almost a dozen local partners have chipped in and donated some seriously awesome raffle prizes.

Want to RSVP? Follow Jon Monroe and follow links to the Partiful.

Connection challenge this week: don’t bail! Showing up works to build the life you want. Couch time does not. It feels uncomfortable at first, but that’s because you’re not used to it. We will be sharing more interesting tidbits and easy, actionable ways to connect, so stay locked in with us.

Seattle Paddle Rave () looks like an overnight success, but like most meaningful communities, it started small.

If you’ve ever hosted an event where only a few people came, this conversation is your reminder: every thriving community begins before anyone is paying attention.

🎙️ How We Connected, Aaron Hurst and Charlotte Massey sat down with Erik Hillesheim to unpack what it really takes to build belonging.

And before you worry, don’t worry. There are more to come if you’re in the Seattle area.

One of Seattle’s hidden gems is tucked just above Pike Place Market.

📚 Folio: The Seattle Athenaeum is a modern membership library and gathering space where books, ideas, and community come together. Whether you’re looking for a quiet place to read, attend an author event, or simply spend an afternoon surrounded by curious people, it’s well worth a visit.

📍 93 Pike St, Seattle, WA 98101
Visitors can purchase a day pass or become a member to enjoy the space year-round. We highly recommend stopping by and experiencing it for yourself.

A huge thank you to the team at Folio for welcoming us during Best Day Ever and helping create a space where meaningful conversations could flourish. We’re grateful to have community partners like you making Seattle a more connected city. ❤️
