Please join us in giving Taylor, our new Community Engagement Coordinator, a warm welcome to our team!
Taylor Tibbs (She/They) is an educator, facilitator, mentor, and racial justice advocate, born and raised in Seattle, Washington. They are deeply committed to practicing accountability, compassion for themselves and all living beings. They believe that transformative relationships between people and with the land can bring about their liberation as a Black and Q***r Person (and ultimately the liberation of all people). Their previous experiences include teaching in high schools, supporting college bound students, and leadering the systemic and visioning work of prioritizing anti-racism work at non-profit organizations - work they could not do without the ability to joyfully reconnect with nature!
When Taylor is in Outside-Outside, you can usually find them reading a book in the park, enjoying a snack near any body of water, visiting trees they’ve known since childhood, or walking their dog (Ruben) through their favorite neighborhoods. They also enjoy regular trips to the many mountains in the Pacific Northwest, and camping on the coast.
Outside of their work with Braided Seeds, Taylor is a Co-Founder of a worker/owner Co-operative Bookstore called Your Cousin’s Place, which centers political education and joy as frameworks for collective liberation.
Welcome, Taylor!
