School-based health centers (SBHCs) are one piece of the puzzle supporting student wellness and academic achievement. SBHC staff regularly partner with families and other school-based staff when possible to ensure students are supported at home, in the classroom, and beyond.

School-based health center (SBHC) staff are available to support students and families navigate the healthcare system. For youth facing barriers to care, SBHCs provide continuous health services and the opportunity to receive referrals for additional community support.

Across Washington, school communities are navigating a period of heightened fear and disruption due to the increase in immigration enforcement activity. The subsequent threat to safety is being felt by students, families, and the communities who support them. Schools and our SBHCs can see how this immediately impacts trust, attendance, and engagement.
