Last month over 1,000 of you came to 23rd and Union for Re:Union on Union – can you come back to the block to patronize the corner’s Black-owned businesses?

August is Black-owned business month and as we continue our work to end displacement in the Central District, it’s a great time to put our support into action.

The CD is experiencing a Black business renaissance – not by accident, but as a result of the advocacy and direct action of organized community members to make sure our presence is permanent, not just remembered.

Our mission is to end Black displacement through community land ownership – so why do we host cultural events?

From hosting Juneteenth and Re:Union on Union to being a proud sponsor of Umoja Fest and Nia Fest, ACLT has been part of ensuring that this summer’s community calendar has been full and vibrant.

We know that when Seattle’s Black culture is reflected and protected, we institutionalize the Black traditions that create cultural continuity.

*double dutch, recording community histories and other family activities,
*a full afternoon of music and entertainment by local performers,
*headliner, Surface, performing all their timeless hits,
*and a surprise cameo performance by local-legend, Ricky Pellum!
