This is how we enjoy summer☀️

On one of Seattle’s hottest days, our little explorers had a blast cooling off with water play on the playground. Learning, laughing, and making unforgettable memories!

Stay hydrated and don’t forget your sunscreen!

Let’s take care of ourselves while enjoying these sunny days.

What an unforgettable week we had at Amistad! ✨

We closed out the year with a burst of emotions, color, and so much love.

We celebrated every classroom’s graduation, honored the amazing work of our teachers, had a blast at Tie-Dye Day, wrapped up all after-school clubs and said goodbye to TICA, got emotional (and cried a little!) at our Middle School graduation

And ended it all with laughter, dancing, and games at Field Day!

And of course… we closed Field Day with our epic Teachers/Parents vs. Middle School soccer match — a tradition filled with fun, pride, and lots of cheering!

Thank you to every family, every volunteer, and everyone who makes this school such a magical place.

At Amistad, we don’t just teach… we build community.

Amistad is more than a school: it’s a place filled with love for education, for our students, and for the family we create together. 💫

Today, our middle school students began taking the AAPPL Test to earn the Seal of Biliteracy. #

The AAPPL provides official ACTFL scores recognized by colleges and universities worldwide, assessing all four language domains: speaking, listening, reading, and writing. This comprehensive evaluation enables students to identify their strengths and areas of growth.

Beyond language skills, the Seal of Biliteracy honors students’ cultural identity while preparing them for a globally connected world that values multilingual communication.

At Amistad, we recognize that bilingualism is a lifelong advantage. Through assessments like AAPPL, we support our students in unlocking their full potential and building confidence for future opportunities.

We celebrate our students’ dedication and academic excellence!

June is a time to honor authenticity, joy, and the vibrant diversity that lives within our Amistad community. 🌈

At Seattle Amistad School, we believe that every person—regardless of their identity, expression, or background—has the right to feel safe, valued, and celebrated. Pride Month is not only a time of joy and visibility but also a powerful reminder of the ongoing journey toward justice, inclusion, and belonging.

As a bilingual and multicultural school, we recognize that authentic learning happens when students feel free to be themselves—when they see their identities reflected, respected, and affirmed in the classroom and beyond.

This month, and every month, we commit to nurturing a space where love, kindness, and acceptance are at the center of who we are.

Happy Pride Month from all of us at Amistad!
Let’s continue walking together—families, students, and staff—as we build a future where every child grows up knowing they are enough, exactly as they are.
