Hello,
My name Is Barbara Droubay. I am a Certified Practitioner of the Grinberg Method® living right now in Berlin, Germany. I also grew up in Seattle. I wish to join two of the things I love the most - The Grinberg Method® and the Pacific Northwest. The intent of this page is:
--To share information about the Grinberg Method® - as a somatic tool for learning, as well as an incredible professio
n--
--To post upcoming dates in which we will be offering one-on-one learning sessions, lectures, and events in Seattle and along the west coast--
--To allow a broad base of people to learn about, like, and share the benefits and their personal experiences of a learning process through the Grinberg Method®--
What is the Grinberg Method®:
While the Grinberg Method® is known in Europe and Israel since 25 years, its presence is just beginning to grow in the USA. Practitioners are currently working in L.A., Chicago, New York, San Francisco, Washington DC, Vancouver BC, and now happily, SEATTLE. The Grinberg Method® is a somatic teaching method, which coaches us in regaining the power of our attention and focusing this toward stopping conditions in our life and body which prevent us from living practically how we want. How we actively use our attention depends on our ability to focus our will, our wish to learn, and in our responses toward fear and pain. The Grinberg Method® perceives that fear and pain are constant companions throughout our human experience. How we react to and utilize these forces in our lives - is a decisive factor in how we are able to engage our will towards living the life we wish. How we are able to risk, to love, to participate; as well as how we deal with stress, disappointment and our struggles towards meeting our goals - all are held physically as our current experience. The Grinberg Method® teaches us to shift our attention from solely our minds to include all of our body, allowing our perception to expand and our held physical routines toward a situation to be stopped. This control allows us to regain choice in our responses toward life and to exercise new options in how we meet our practical experience. It allows us to act in real time and in accordance to what is actually happening, rather than react from our automatic interpretations and what we believe about them. In this way, the Grinberg Method® teaches how to face challenges and seize opportunities using our own personal power and according to our individual abilities. This learning happens in one-on-one sessions or in group activities, which are offered on a variety of subjects. The Grinberg Method® holds a strong ethics policy and high standards of supervision and continuing education for its practitioners under the IAGMP, - International association of Grinberg Method® Practitioners. The Grinberg Method® is also a rich profession and is taught through International Schools of Grinberg Method® Practitioners, currently in Berlin – Germany and Vienna – Austria.
