Join us for a peaceful nature art walk with Sienna, a SUNGuide who frequently explores Discovery Park and knows its trails well. This walk is more than just a stroll—it’s an invitation to slow down, observe, and connect with the natural world through art and presence.

We’ll meet at the Discovery Park Visitor Center, then take a guided walk together, pausing to notice what catches our eyes.

We’ll take moments of silence to observe wildlife, sketch in our sketchbooks, and reflect on how to stay grounded and fully present in nature.

Kellie: Hello, I’m Kellie. I’m the Art & Design program director with Deaf Spotlight. We’re hosting our next event, a nature walk with Sienna! Time? 10am-1pm. Where? At Discovery Park. What will we do? We’ll take a walk through the woods with a guide and hold discussions on how we can converge nature and arts. Come join us on this adventure!

Deaf Lit Fest (DLF) is BACK! October 9–11, 2026, at Hugo House in Seattle, WA. Mark your calendar—more information will be shared this summer.

>> Rogan, DLF Director: Deaf Lit Fest is coming soon! Mark your calendar for October 9-11, 2026 at Hugo House in Seattle, Washington. This is a festival that aims to spotlight Deaf, DeafBlind, DeafDisabled and Hard of Hearing authors of various backgrounds, provide some workshops related to writing and the literary world, and give opportunities for people to meet other like-minded people. The festival will include workshops, poetry reading, art and literary vendors, social time, etc! We will announce authors, poets, and vendors later this summer!

BIPOC Deaf Arts Grant is open now to August 28, 2026!

The Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) Deaf Arts Grant is an annual program established in 2021 which provides financial support for emerging and established artists to further advance their careers.

The Deaf Arts Grant will make a crucial difference for US-based BIPOC Deaf, DeafBlind, DeafDisabled, and Hard of Hearing artists to thrive in the challenging arts field. This grant is supported by Deaf Spotlight (Seattle, WA) and Urban Jazz Dance Company (Bay Area, CA).

Come learn how to apply for the BIPOC Deaf Arts Grant!

Here's your chance to chat with the planning committee and to prep your application ahead of time. Please register by Friday, June 5: https://forms.cloud.microsoft/r/JqAZUa3zti

To qualify for this grant, you must:
*Identify as a member of an underrepresented racial group, such as Black, Indigenous, or a Person of Color (BIPOC)
*Identify as Deaf, DeafBlind, DeafDisabled, or Hard of Hearing
*Identify as an artist who makes original art
*Live in the United States or U.S. Territories. US citizenship is not required.
*Be at least 18 years of age by the time grant funds are dispersed by Friday, August 28, 2026
