Sharing more beautiful memories of Mother Nation's 2026 Healing Together MMIR awareness event at Daybreak Star Indian Cultural Center. Mother Nation staff, volunteers, cooks and guests did an incredible job, thanks to Daybreak Star staff's gracious hospitality. Much love and continued healing to MMIR survivor families who bravely shared their stories and to Blacklodge Singers for unifying the community with closing round dance songs.

We are so grateful to those who joined us in community at our 3rd Healing Together MMIR awareness event at Daybreak Star Indian Cultural Center.

It was a beautiful day honoring our missing and murdered relatives. We thank the families of Leona Kinsey, Rosenda Sophia Strong, Justin Nathan, Benita Long, and Mona Renee Vallo for sharing the stories of their lost loved ones, ensuring that their names are never forgotten.

Thank you to our keynote speaker, Bernadine Beyale, Executive Director of 4 Corners K9 Search and Rescue for all the incredible work you and your team do educating the public and searching for our missing relatives. Thank you to the organizations that tabled and all of the Yakama drummers that came together for our event.

We extend heartfelt gratitude to our distinguished guest speakers, Washington State Senator Claudia Kauffman and City of Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson for their presence and words of solidarity.

Hands raised 🙌 Mother Nation

The days are getting longer and the sunshine is coming out- the perfect time to start getting more active! ☀️

It’s never too late to begin, and taking baby steps is essential for your physical health. Just remember to balance that movement with rest: take mental breaks when you're feeling overwhelmed, ground yourself to stay in the present, and keep your body hydrated. You're half way through the week! Keep up your progress and hard work!

Healing Together: Honoring Our Missing and Murdered Indigenous Relatives 🕯️

True healing happens in community, and justice begins when we refuse to let our relatives be forgotten. Please join us next Thursday, May 28th, for a powerful day of remembrance, advocacy, and collective strength as we honor our Missing and Murdered Indigenous Relatives (MMIR)

We are honored to share space with three incredible voices, advocates, and family members who have turned their deepest grief into unwavering action:

Carolyn DeFord (Puyallup Tribe): Activist, advocate, and the Anti-Trafficking Program Manager for the Puyallup Tribe of Indians.

Gigi Nathan (Tsimshian, Haida): A mother whose son went missing on Deer Mountain in Ketchikan, Alaska. After embarking on a journey of deep personal transformation, Gigi now dedicates her path to healing herself so she can uplift and help other families of the missing.

Cissy Strong (CTUIR / Yakama Nation descendant): A fierce, unwavering voice for her sister, Rosenda Strong, and the broader MMIWP movement since 2018.

Come listen to their stories, support the families, and stand with us as we move toward Healing Together.

TODAY is Native Nonprofit Day, and Mother Nation is calling on our relatives, friends, and community to stand with Native women and families.

Native‑led nonprofits receive less than 1% of philanthropic funding, yet our people continue to rely on the cultural healing, advocacy, and community care we offer every day. We show up because our teachings tell us to care for one another, especially those carrying the heaviest burdens.

We’re raising funds to build the Spirit Healing Journey Village, a healing community rooted in land, ceremony, and belonging. A place where Native women and their families can rest, reconnect, and rebuild in safety. A place created with intention, guided by ancestral teachings, and held with love.

Every gift today helps us move this vision from hope into reality. Your support is a real investment in Indigenous futures and in the healing of our relatives.
