We had such a great time partnering with the Lake Forest Park Tree Board for our Tree Walk! ๐ŸŒฟ

Led by UW Professor Emeritus and former botanist Richard Olmstead, families joined us for a guided stroll through the park, learning about the trees in our community and the important role they play in protecting and nourishing local ecosystems.

After the walk, we shared light snacks, dove into conversations about forest recovery, and explored upcoming tree-planting opportunities ๐ŸŒฑ.

Thank you to everyone who came out to learn, connect, and spend a beautiful day in nature with us!!

Join Climate Action Families (CAF) and the Lake Forest Park Tree Board for a guided Tree Walk led by UW Professor Emeritus and former botanist Richard Olmstead ๐ŸŒฟ

Weโ€™ll stroll about a mile through the park, exploring the trees in our local areas learning how they protect and nourish our community. After the walk, stick around for:

๐ŸŒฑ A conversation on forest recovery
๐ŸŒณ Tree-planting opportunities this fall
๐ŸŽฒ Games & activities for youth

CAF had an amazing time today with .uw for our Repurposing Invasive Plants event! Thank you to all the families who came to pull out English Ivy and other invasive species, helping restoring our local protected swamps! We cleared out areas so that local plants could thrive and continue benefiting the ecosystem, and then repurposed the English Ivy into household crafts!

We had such an fun time- thank you so much .uw for collaborating!
