NWSSA is a nonprofit membership organization with approximately 200 members. Stone sculptors/ stone carvers/ sculpture/ fine art/ artists. The group was founded in 1984 and was awarded federal tax exempt status 501c in 1995.

Stone Carving Symposium starts off Sunday morning with our mandatory safety meeting. Always wear PPE: respirator, eye protection, hearing protection, close toed shoes. Be cautious of long hair, loose clothes & drawstrings on hoodies.
Angle grinders: inspect your blades for cracks, warps or vibrates= replace it! Position the guards, use the handles!
There’s a lot to be aware of around your workspace to keep yourself & neighboring artists safe!

📣 : ArtsWA and the University of Washington Seattle are seeking an artist or artist team to create engaging and unique public artwork for the Chemical Sciences Building (CSB) and its surroundings. The Art Committee is interested in artwork that evokes the connection between art and science including the transformative properties of chemistry as well as the innovative, interdisciplinary research that will take place within the CSB.

📆Deadline to apply: July 30, 2026 at 4 p.m. PDT
