Did you know that We Care Daily Clinic is now in Lake City every weekday? We're glad that they are! A mobile clinic van sets up behind the Seattle Mennonite Church on Monday-Friday 9 AM - 2 PM, providing care and opioid treatment services to anyone with Medicaid or Medicare. And they'll help patients access those programs. We Care also offers transportation services to and from their clinics.

As we work for answers to homelessness in Lake City and across Seattle, it's critical to listen to the voices of those who are unhoused. What are they experiencing? What are the barriers to finding shelter and permanent housing? What works and what doesn't for different people? We're working together to find those answers, along with all the service providers who agree that we can solve this when we're all willing to invest the resources.

Seattle is good at effort. We’re less good at coordination. The mayor’s 1,000 beds for unsheltered people should be the beginning, not the plan itself.

North Helpline is hosting its Summer Block Party on Friday, July 10, from 12:00-4 :00 PM at the Lake City Food Bank.

This free community event will include food, entertainment, resources, and activities for all ages.
