Sammy Kongo BLESSED THE CHOMA FEST STAGE!

Pure energy. Pure vibes. Pure African excellence.

From the first beat to the last moment, Rafikii understood the assignment and brought the whole festival to life!

This is the energy we created at Choma Fest Global Experience.

WE’RE OPENING THE DOOR.

This year, Kicheko Project + Choma Fest Global Experience are proud to be part of Welcome Week 2026 — a national movement built around one simple idea:

Connection starts with an invitation.

And that’s exactly what Choma Fest is about.

Inviting someone into the music.
Inviting someone into the food.
Inviting someone into the culture.
Inviting someone into the laughter.
Inviting someone into the community.

On September 26, we’re bringing people together at Magnuson Park for a celebration of African culture, global sounds, food, comedy, dance, fashion, and the people who make Seattle feel like home.

Because sometimes all it takes is one person saying:

“Come with me.”

This Choma Fest, bring somebody new. Bring a friend. Bring a neighbor. Bring someone who needs a place to belong.

One invitation can become a community.

AN EVENING OF ELEGANCE. CULTURE. CONNECTION.

Seattle, you understood the assignment.

From the moment the doors opened, Élégance Soirée was a celebration of style, artistry, culture, and community — beautifully curated and effortlessly unforgettable.

It was an honor to step into the room as your host and to have Kicheko Project represented as a vendor, bringing our mission, energy, and love for community into an evening this special.

And to the visionaries behind Élégance Soirée: thank you for creating a space where African culture, modern elegance, and Seattle creativity could meet in one room.

The room was beautiful.
The energy was undeniable.
The people made it unforgettable.

Until the next soirée.

The 4th Annual East African Heritage Festival is a Wrap! ✨

Two thousand people. One community. Twenty-five years in the making.

SeaTac showed up, showed out, and reminded everyone why this corner of the Pacific Northwest is unlike anywhere else on earth. From the stage to the marketplace, from the coffee ceremony to the dance floor, EAHF 2026 was everything.

Thank you East African Comm. Services for having us.

To every family who came through the gates, every elder who shared their story, every child who danced in public for the first time — this day was yours.

None of it happens without the people who believed in it first.

Thank you to our Presenting Sponsor, the City of SeaTac, for making EAHF home.

Thank you to our Major Sponsor, Amazon, for making this festival free for our community.

Thank you to our Supporting Sponsors: 4Culture, Kaiser Permanente, Black@KP, and Sound Transit.

Thank you to our Community Sponsors: Compass Construction, United Way of King County, Living Well Kent, Ally Community Development, and Voices of Tomorrow.

And thank you to every Community Partner who walked alongside us: Sheger Entertainment, Kicheko Project Foundation , WA Africa Diaspora Commission, Eritrean Community Center, AYDEPI, Samawado Women's Health, Celebrating Roots, and SeaTac Police Community Engagement.

25 years of EACS. One unforgettable afternoon. See you in 2027. 🧡🩵
