Our organization
The Dante Alighieri Society of Washington is a membership organization with an Executive Board of four officers and consiglieri. Executive Board members are elected each year at the Society’s Annual General meeting, usually held the second Wednesday in April. The Italian language program operates under the supervision and coordination of a language program director ex-officio Board member. Our history
Early roots of the Dante Alighieri Society of Washington date back to 1908. The first president was Dr. DeDonato a local physician. Since then periodical reorganizations and improvements occurred to keep
up with time. Today the Dante Alighieri Society of Washington is a
vibrant organization with a calendar full of engaging events, a series
of popular online Italian language courses, the Italian language
certification PLIDA and a landmark for all the italsimpatici in the
Seattle area and beyond.
