Inspiring Academic Excellence, Recognizing Achievement, and Building a Culture of CARE

Selected teachers of Ramon Magsaysay High School Manila gathered to receive their Project LABAN incentive packages, intended to reward students who achieved perfect scores of 100% on their quizzes.

Envisioned by RMHS Principal Robert Velasquez, Project LABAN promotes academic excellence, motivation, discipline, and perseverance. Students proudly paraded around the school quadrangle to mark the program's implementation.

Through the generosity of RMHS Project Horizon Alumni Association Inc. and RMHS North America Inc., 1,000 pencils, 1,000 ballpens, and 1,000 notebooks were donated as student incentives, earning heartfelt appreciation from the teachers.

Beyond Financial Assistance: Compassion, Care, and Emotional Support

Project Kalinga goes beyond financial assistance by promoting the emotional well-being, personal development, and overall welfare of student scholars.

Evelyn Martinez-Javier (RMHS Batch 1980), Vice President of RMHS North America Inc. and Education Relations Officer of RMHS Project Horizon Alumni Association Inc., personally met with the parents of Alphonse Elric Belo (Grade 8 – Humility) and the teacher-adviser of Trinity Bengat (Grade 7 – Courage) to better understand their circumstances and strengthen their support systems.

Juliet Eusebio (RMHS Batch 1980), Project Horizon Batch Ambassador, was also present to extend her support and encouragement.

Both scholars, accompanied by their respective guardians, paid a courtesy call on RMHS Manila Principal Robert Velasquez, reinforcing the importance of collaboration among families, educators, school leadership, and alumni.

Project Kalinga believes that financial assistance alone is not enough. Every scholar deserves compassion, understanding, emotional encouragement, and a caring support system throughout their educational journey.

Compassion in Action. Hope in Times of Hardship.

ANNOUNCEMENT OF SCHOLARSHIP ASSISTANCE

Rooted in the Filipino spirit of malasakit, bayanihan, at pagkakaisa, Project Kalinga provides compassionate assistance to RMHS Manila students and families facing financial hardship and unexpected challenges.

We are pleased to announce monthly scholarship grants for two deserving RMHS students:

🌟 ALPHONSE ELRIC BELO
* Grade 8 – Humility
* Teacher: Mr. Jaime Robrigado, RMHS Marching Band Director
Alphonse and his family were recently affected by a devastating fire. This scholarship will help ease their financial burden while supporting his continued education as they recover and rebuild.

🌟 TRINITY BENGAT
* Grade 7 – Courage
* Adviser: Ms. Frosyl Miguel
Trinity comes from a marginalized family with 10 children, including herself. Despite limited financial resources and the challenges of a large household, she continues pursuing her education. This assistance will help ease her family's financial burden and support her educational needs.

SCHOLARSHIP BENEFITS
Each student will receive:
* ₱1,000 monthly scholarship
* October 2026 – March 2027 (6 months)
* ₱6,000 per student | ₱12,000 total assistance

PROJECT KASUUTAN: A SIMPLE OBSERVATION TURNED INTO A THOUGHTFUL GIFT OF CARE!
Sometimes, the most meaningful acts of kindness begin with simply noticing the needs of others.

During a routine practice session of the RMHS Marching Band, Ms. Evelyn Martinez-Javier, RMHS Batch 1980 and Vice President of RMHS North America Inc., noticed that many students were wearing white socks showing signs of prolonged use, some with holes, while others were worn out or discolored.

What began as a simple observation became a meaningful act of generosity.

Moved by genuine concern, Ms. Martinez-Javier generously donated three (3) sets of brand-new white socks to each RMHS Marching Band member, providing comfort and encouragement to these dedicated young performers.

Extending Compassion and Support to RMHS Students

Project Kalinga is a student welfare and humanitarian assistance initiative dedicated to supporting students of Ramon Magsaysay High School Manila who are experiencing financial hardship, family emergencies, unexpected crises, and other challenging circumstances.

Rooted in the Filipino spirit of malasakit, bayanihan, at pagkakaisa, Project Kalinga seeks to provide timely, compassionate, and meaningful assistance to help students overcome difficulties and continue their education with hope and confidence.

Areas of Assistance
* Emergency Financial Assistance – Support for students and families affected by fires, natural disasters, and unforeseen emergencies.
* Educational Assistance – Scholarships, school supplies, uniforms, and other essential learning needs.
* Student Welfare Support – Assistance with basic necessities for students experiencing financial hardship.

We proudly extend our support to 25 dedicated members of the Ramon Magsaysay High School Manila Marching Band, providing each student with three (3) pairs of white socks as part of their essential marching band attire.

Through Project Kasuutan, we recognize the discipline, dedication, teamwork, and musical talents of our young performers who proudly represent RMHS during school ceremonies, performances, and special events.
