Our last Starbucks bunny break in the National Capital Region was exactly what we hoped it would be: community care in real life.
For three hours, the Columbia Pike Starbucks patio became something softer. Kids held bunnies. Military families stopped to breathe. Neighbors wandered over because they could not quite believe there were free bunny snuggles at Starbucks. Caregivers received Weld + Wire Jewelry Bar infinity jewelry, made and gifted with love.
Inside, Danielle Lemus and her Starbucks partners filled the store with face painting, crafts, refreshments, and the kind of welcome that makes people stay a little longer. Starbucks partner volunteer hours from the event will also benefit the Elizabeth Dole Foundation through Starbucks’ volunteer matching program.
More than 100 people stopped for bunny snuggles, and together we gifted over $1,500 in infinity jewelry to military caregivers and military spouses.
This was Betsy’s fourth collaboration with Danielle and her store, and our final Starbucks event in this region before Rock Island Farm heads west. We could not have asked for a more meaningful sendoff.
To everyone who adopted a bunny, visited the farm, bought jewelry, shared our events, volunteered your time, or simply showed up with an open heart: you helped make this possible.
Thank you for taking a bunny break with us. 🐰
