Rock Island Farm In addition, the farm hosts Military Family Getaways and Military Spouse Connection events to foster support networks and create moments of respite.

Rock Island Farm offers a unique combination of healing and community-building programs, primarily focused on military families and caregivers, while also welcoming public engagement. Through the Healing with Holland Lops program, the farm provides veteran families with rabbits, offering emotional companionship and comfort during challenging times. The public can visit on Snuggle Bunny Sundays, a

ticketed event where they can interact with the rabbits. Proceeds from these public events support the farm’s mission, enabling military families to participate in the programs free of charge. Additionally, the farm sells rabbits seasonally, offering the broader community a chance to support the farm while bringing home a cuddly companion. In essence, Rock Island Farm blends therapeutic support for military families with community involvement, providing a peaceful retreat for all visitors, while ensuring that public contributions directly benefit the healing journeys of veterans and their caregivers.

Thank you for hanging with us as the timing for rabbit adoptions and our final farm weekend has shifted. 🤍

Behind the scenes, we’ve been navigating a much bigger family and farm transition than I’ve shared publicly, and I’ve been trying to make the best, most thoughtful decisions for the animals before we leave Virginia.

Not sharing that for sympathy. Just gratitude for the patience, grace, and kindness so many of you have shown.

The details are in the graphics, and we’d love to see you as we close out this chapter of Rock Island Farm.

A little handmade sweetness with a whole lot of heart. 🐰

These custom crochet bunnies were made for Rock Island Farm by local artisan Stitchcraft & Whimsey, and their proceeds helped us offer free bunny snuggles to military families across DC, Maryland, and Virginia.

Tiny bunnies. Soft moments. So much love.

Thank to all the military families who joined us for free bunny snuggles over Memorial Day weekend. It was our honor and pleasure to bring you and your families moments of unexpected joy and community on what is a very difficult weekend for all of us. We had such a good time with you - we didn't take many photos.

Our last Starbucks bunny break in the National Capital Region was exactly what we hoped it would be: community care in real life.

For three hours, the Columbia Pike Starbucks patio became something softer. Kids held bunnies. Military families stopped to breathe. Neighbors wandered over because they could not quite believe there were free bunny snuggles at Starbucks. Caregivers received Weld + Wire Jewelry Bar infinity jewelry, made and gifted with love.

Inside, Danielle Lemus and her Starbucks partners filled the store with face painting, crafts, refreshments, and the kind of welcome that makes people stay a little longer. Starbucks partner volunteer hours from the event will also benefit the Elizabeth Dole Foundation through Starbucks’ volunteer matching program.

More than 100 people stopped for bunny snuggles, and together we gifted over $1,500 in infinity jewelry to military caregivers and military spouses.

This was Betsy’s fourth collaboration with Danielle and her store, and our final Starbucks event in this region before Rock Island Farm heads west. We could not have asked for a more meaningful sendoff.

To everyone who adopted a bunny, visited the farm, bought jewelry, shared our events, volunteered your time, or simply showed up with an open heart: you helped make this possible.

Thank you for taking a bunny break with us. 🐰

Weld + Wire Jewelry Bar is honored to be part of this event recognizing military and veteran caregivers.

As a veteran caregiver-owned business, we understand how full life can feel — the appointments, the planning, the constant adjusting, and the way you keep going because someone has to.

This event is designed to give you a pause.

Even if it’s just long enough for your favorite drink from Starbies, a bunny snuggle, and a custom Infinity Bracelet made for you on site.
