Disability can take many forms, and not all are easy to see.
This is a simple reminder to lead with awareness, kindness, and compassion for every person.

1 billion people worldwide live with a disability. In the United States alone, that's 1 in 4 adults—over 70 million people.

These numbers tell us something important: disability is not rare. It is part of the human experience. And every single person behind these numbers deserves healthcare that is equal, dignified, and compassionate.

At DHEI, we believe equitable healthcare starts with prepared providers. Our evidence-based programs ensure that physician assistants are equipped to care for every patient—with the same confidence, competence, and compassion—regardless of disability.

Because 1 billion people deserve nothing less.

The gap between medical education and disability-inclusive care is real—but it is closable.

At DHEI, we offer evidence-based curriculum for physician assistant programs that builds genuine confidence in caring for patients with disabilities. The result?

✅ Better diagnoses
✅ More confident providers
✅ Equitable care for every patient

Our programs are grounded in lived experience, clinical expertise, and a deep belief that every patient deserves a provider who is prepared.

"Building a healthcare workforce that is confident, prepared, and compassionate — for every patient, every time."

Did you know that 1 in 4 U.S. adults—over 70 million people—lives with a disability?

44% of adults 65 and older have a disability. This is nearly every waiting room, every clinic, every community.

Yet most clinicians receive little to no formal training in disability-inclusive care.

At DHEI, we're working to change that by bringing evidence-based disability health education to physician assistant programs nationwide.
