This Week’s Pawsitive Furspective, brought to you by Polar Pop. 🐾
Hi friends, Polar Pop here. 💜
“Life is a mirror. And life gives us not what we want. Life gives us who we are.”
I think there’s something beautiful about that.
Sometimes we spend so much time wishing life looked different - wishing we were somewhere else, wishing things had happened another way, wishing someone would finally choose us.
But maybe life is also asking us to look inward. To decide who we want to be despite where we find ourselves. To keep choosing kindness after disappointment. To keep loving after loss. To keep hoping, even when we’ve been waiting longer than we thought we would.
I know a little something about mirrors, too. 😉
When I catch my reflection, I don’t see an eight-year-old dog whose best days are behind her. I see a 45-pound husky with a gentle heart, a little wisdom in her eyes, and plenty of life still waiting to be lived.
This week, some wonderful volunteers took me to the mall - where I got to meet lots of new people, soak up some love, and simply enjoy being out in the world.
For a few hours, I wasn’t a dog waiting for a foster or adopter. I was just Polar Pop - making friends, having an adventure, and reminding everyone I met that there is so much beauty in the chapter I’m in right now.
I’m still looking for someone willing to see that in me, too.
Maybe life hasn’t given me everything I’ve wanted just yet. But I know who I am.
I am hopeful.
I am loving.
I am worthy.
And I’m still waiting for a heart to call home.
Could that be with you?
Until next time, friends - take a look in the mirror. The love, kindness, and goodness you put into this world have a funny way of finding their way back to you.
All my love,
Polar Pop
