More than 5 million veterans rely on community based providers for health and behavioral health support each year. Many carry service related trauma that intersects with housing stability, employment, and family well being — not just clinical need.

Those supports often exist outside formal systems and depend on sustained community investment to remain accessible.

Remembering service means supporting the full lives people return to afterward.

When mental health support is rooted in community trust, conversations happen earlier and stigma loosens. That first connection often happens outside of clinical settings — which is why community based support needs dedicated investment.

This year’s Healthy Fall Festivals were an incredible celebration of Nuestro Bienestar – our health, families, and community!

Across three cities, we welcomed over 12,000 attendees, partnered with more than 100 community organizations, and distributed thousands of turkeys, poultry, fresh produce, healthy meals, and care packages – making a powerful impact for families in need.

But these festivals were more than health events – they were moments of connection, laughter, and shared well-being. Music, raffles, and kids’ activities brought smiles to every corner, creating a true spirit of togetherness.
