Friends of Hardy Lake Friends of Hardy Lake is a not for profit group organized to support the Dwight Chamberlain Raptor Center, Hardy Lake, and its Interpretive Program.

There is no cost to join this group all we ask is some of your time, talents, or ideas.

The last of our Halloween Weekends are finally here. This weekend is our Owl-O-Ween event. Check out our Interpretive Programs that will be going on:
Saturday, October 25th
7:30-10:30 am - Breakfast with the Birds: Meet at the shelter house above the beach for this all you can eat fundraising breakfast. Adults $8 Kids $3 all proceeds go to support the Dwight Chamberlain Raptor Center.
11:00 am - Pumpkin Carving: Meet at the playground in the campground to carve some pumpkins. Bring your own pumpkin or buy one of ours for $3. Tools will be provided while supplies last.
1:00-2:30 pm - Wagon Rides through the Campground : Meet at the Amphitheater and board the wagon as we tour around the campground to see all of the decorated campsites.
3:00 pm - Costume Fashion Show: Meet at the Amphitheater to show off your costume in our costume fashion show and get a treat bag.
4:00-6:00 pm - Trick or Treating in the Campground: This Trick or Treating event is open to the Ppublic.
Sunday, October 26th
10:30 am - Craft Time: Meet at the Amphitheater to make a fun take home craft.

Coming up this weekend is Labor Day Weekend. Which means that we will be offering double the Interpretive Programs.
Check out our Interpretive Programs that will be going on:
Saturday, Aug. 30
7:30-10:30 am - Breakfast with the Birds: Meet at the Shelter House above the Beach for this all you can eat fundraising breakfast. Adults $8 Kids $3 all proceeds go to support the Dwight Chamberlain Raptor Center
11:00 am - Bug Catching Contest: Meet at the Playground in the Campground to compete to see who can find the coolest and rarest bugs.
1:00 pm - Craft Time: Meet at the Amphitheater to make a fun take home craft.
6:00 pm - History of Bald Eagles: Meet at the Amphitheater as we learn about the important history and symbolism of our national symbol with our live education Bald Eagle
Sunday, Aug. 31
10:30 am - Birding Basics: Meet at the Main Trailhead as we learn the basics of Birdwatching. Bring binoculars if you have them as we take a 3/4 of a mile hike trying to spot some cool birds. Close-toed shoes recommended.
1:00 pm - Scavenger Hunt: Meet at the Amphitheater to take part in our Scavenger Hunt.
6:00 pm - Trivia Night: Meet at the Amphitheater and put on your thinking caps as we play some Nature themed trivia.

Join us at Hardy Lake for a critter filled weekend. We have many fun in informative interpretive programs available this weekend:
Saturday:
10:30 am - Predator Tag: Meet at the Playground in the Campground for this fun ecology lesson bases around the game of tag
1:00 pm - Box Turtle Buffet: Meet at the Amphitheater as we learn about our terrestrial turtles and what they eat.
6:00 pm - Snakes of Indiana: Meet at the Amphitheater to learn about some of the snakes that we can find throughout the state of Indiana.
Sunday:
10:30 am - Craft Time: Meet at the Amphitheater to make a fun take home craft.

Join us this Saturday Night at 6:30 pm for our Basics of Archery. During this program we will be teaching anyone that is interested in how to a shoot a bow. Meet at the Archery Range located near our Property Office. Bows and Arrows are available while supplies last.
