Animal abuse,
including horse abuse is rampant everywhere.. It's rampant in training, in the professional horse world, at the ranch, at the boarding facility down the road, on the trail, in the arena, in the barn and in the stall, even at animal welfare orgs. It's always been that way, the human makes money, the animals suffer. Even the gentlest approach in handling horses can cause harm - it may not be physical but the emotional toll to the horse is immeasurable.
Abuse is all over social media and is often used for clicks, likes and comments. There are even Youtube, TikTok, Facebook and Instagram influencers that make a living highlighting the abuse. They may think they are doing the right thing by condemning the abuse but they are promoting it none the less.
Good for them you might say. But highlighting the abuse on social media to millions of followers fuels the fire and creates a world where not only are the people showing videos and photos of terrible abuse, they are sending a message that abusing an animal will get them likes clicks, viewers, followers, and money in their pockets.
So what can we do?
Report it to the platform you saw it on.

As use of a drug causing infertility in the herd continues, a wild horse advocate hopes to amend a bill by Sen. John Hoeven to protect the wild horses at Theodore Roosevelt National Park.
