This week we are in Chicago for the first in-person FBLA National Leadership Conference since 2019! Chelsie Rose competed in Electronic Career Portfolio yesterday and while she didn’t break into finals, we are so proud of her accomplishments at this conference and in FBLA! We’ve also been checking out some of Chicago including taking a Chicago Architecture River Cruise (with our friends to the north - Rock Hills FBLA), hanging out at Navy Pier, selfies with The Bean, and trying some local cuisine (we love deep dish pizza!). Tomorrow we head back home!

It’s been a good day for Chelsie at the State Leadership Conference, the premier conference for FBLA members networking and competing against the best members 1A-6A for a chance to qualify for the National Leadership Conference this summer.

She spoke during the Opening Session, took a few tests, presented her Electronic Career Portfolio, and completed a few interviews. We also found out she made finals from yesterday’s Banking & Financial System test and will present in that tomorrow! So far we know she will be up on stage for 4 events!

Today is World Prematurity Awareness Day. Annually on November 17, individuals across the world raise awareness for the millions of babies each year born prematurely. FBLA members are wearing purple today to show their support and hope you do the same!

The third goal of FBLA-PBL is to “Create more interest in and understanding of American business enterprise.” American Enterprise Day is observed on November 15 each year to recognize free enterprise and how it has contributed to the economy. Since President Jimmy Carter’s proclamation on August 8, 1980, FBLA chapters across the nation have helped promote this day.

Hi everyone! My name is Chelsie Rose and I am a senior at Scott Community High School. This year I am serving as your District VIII Vice President. Not only am I very active in FBLA, but also 4-H. Through 4-H I have been able to donate my quilts to an organization called Quilts of Valor that gives quilts to retired and active servicemen as a thank you for serving our country. At SCHS I am very active in Band, Sugar n Spice, Musical, Forensics, Scholars Bowl, and National Honor Society. During my free time you can find me cruising with friends, watching movies and shows, or creating my next quilt. I can’t wait to see where this year takes us and I’m looking forward to participating in in-person events.
