What an absolute mess! The wind almost swept us away and then the break line on our van broke. So we are listening to the universe and slowly packing it back up. The wind is awful and becoming dangerous.

New and exciting projects going on at the Hippies Restoring Hope & Hippie Hog Refuge property!

We will be reaching out to the community very soon in hopes we can get some help with those projects.

Our current project is Spring Cleaning the property before we can get started on what’s important: Working on the Garden and building a Catio for our remaining disabled fur-residence at Hippie Hog Refuge.

This is a great concept. Not possible/affordable in the US but maybe some day. It seems more geared towards European backpackers touring the country on foot. I can’t imagine affording one of these or any agency with a grant that would get approved for such an expensive item unless it were a study they were doing.

So we often acquire personal items in the estate donations we are given to sell. We try and give these things back to the family, if they want it.

Unfortunately we can’t remember where this came from. It’s mounted to the inside of a frame folder. It says “Machnik Studio | Jackson” at the bottom. Nothing else.

Please share! We’d love for this to get back to whoever this might belong to.

Well hey there Mulberry Tree! Your berries are looking almost ripe, I see! 👀

We think they will be fully ripe and ready to pick by next week. If anyone is interested in helping to harvest and splitting the haul, comment here! We’d love some visitors!

We know we are a bit late but spring could not make up its mind about going or staying 😅

Garden planning is finally moving forward after several nights of frost, and fingers are crossed that we will have no more! (It’s June for goodness sake!)

It’s looking like a hot mess, but we are actually 🤏 this close to finalizing where everything is going to go! AND we have space left over for some donated plants, if we ever receive any 🙂

We are excited to (after 2 years of planning and planning and planning lol) FINALLY move forward with this community garden!

I kinda feel like this was directed at us. It’s something that bothers me. The rumors and slander (75% of past people we took in, fed and clothed, rent free to help me (steph) on the property, were removed by the police. Some were arrested even.) were mostly started by ex roommates and other people who feed on drama. The first name change was a fresh start. Or trying. The second (this one) is explained in our pinned post. The last name we used was derailing the topics and what I was asking for help with or someone needed for help or advice. Now we have a new name. With that new name comes a new outlook. No more toxic people. No more helping ungrateful jerks. No more drama vampires.

I’m prepared to be hated to take the higher ground. My wise sidter told me, “If someone needs help and doesn’t reach out or won’t accept our help, then I guess they didn’t need the help that badly”.

I love those of you who have been on this journey with us! 🤟 thank you!

A year later we are trying again! Also, since it’s been raining like crazy here, we habe been trying to gather as many supplies as possible on days we cant do much outside so that we can still stay productive.

We can pick up all supplies!

It would be nice if they could be delivered but we are also out in the country and technically in Leoni Twp despite the 49201 address. So getting to us can be a bit of a drive. We are prepared to come get supplies especially if they are large items or a lot of items. We have a huge conversion van.

If anyone wants to donate anything else garden related and arent sure if we can use it, the answer is yes 😂 in all seriousness, if we can’t use it, we can pay it forward and pass whatever it is along to someone else who can use it.

On to the list!

WE ARE IN NEED OF:

🔸 Paint (still good, used cans okay!)
We will take anything and will
use it at one point, but the
main colors we need are:
-white
-pastel or light yellow
- lemon yellow
(Cool yellow like a highlighter)
-sunshine yellow
(warm in color like a school bus)
-merigold (very light orange)
-light pink
-medium pink (like bubblegum?)
-hot pink or darker pink
-walnut or other dark wood stain
- always need clear coat & sealer!
(These are just colors we WANT to work with. They are suggestions. We will work with what we get 💕)

🔸 a few panels of OLD wooden privacy fencing. It’s usually ugly and gray and being replaced or sitting behind your garage 🤣 we will pick up all of it for you. We might not use it all but it’s our way of helping if you need it gone!

🔸 plywood -any size that’s 2x2 or bigger. So-so condition is fine. We will be painting it or using it under/behind stuff as a base or backing. We’d love to display the nice stuff and will, but as long as it’s not rotten or structurally
Compromised we will come get it 💕 …..in other words, if it CAN be used, it WILL be used!

🔸 clean topsoil (total of 2 cubic yards) for two 23ft long planter boxes/ raised flowerbeds that will be holding strawberries

🔸 strawberry runners (to get after the big planters and soil is set up. I’ve killed 3 rounds of runners by now by not setting it up first over the last 2 years)

🔸 bigger artist paint brushes like for stenciling big pics onto walls. Not wall painting brushes, we’ve got those covered 💕

🔸 mason jars, lids & rings. DO NOT HAVE TO BE FOOD SAFE. It’s for the paint so we don’t have to cart a gallon around with us to stencil a fence 😂

Here are a few of our idea sketches but we’ve decided to go with a yellow & pink theme (with green of course 😂) instead of blue and purple and pink.

The measurements are the actual garden plot that’s been ripped up, fenced, has a small fire pit and patio in the middle, etc. it’s huge.
