Engine 3 and truck 1 are operating in the 1000 block of Pleasant St. for a vehicle in the rear of a building. Engine 3 request additional engine due to proximity to homes.

This morning, members of 4th platoon Engine 4 were truly humbled to take a few moments in between calls to celebrate a remarkable milestone at Sunnyview Rehabilitation Hospital, as Glens Falls Firefighters IAFF Local 2230 member Micki Guy took a major step forward on her road to recovery, being released home to continue her rehabilitation. It was incredibly uplifting to witness her walk to her car for the ride home, a testament to her unwavering strength and resilience.

Just a few short months ago, Micki suffered severe head injury in a freak accident while responding to a fire, and we are overjoyed to see the remarkable progress she has made. We are honored to stand in support of our brave brothers and sisters from Glens Falls.

On behalf of all members of Local 28, we would like to extend our congratulations to First Platoon Engine 2 Lieutenant S. Burns on his promotion to the rank of Captain. This is a well-deserved promotion for a knowledgeable firefighter and exemplary officer. Captain Burns has 17 years of experience with the City of Schenectady Fire Department, and we are confident that he will excel in his new administrative role.

Companies have a porch fire that has extended into the attic.

Companies are currently operating or beginning to clear the scene of another 2nd alarm fire, this one on Lancaster St. in Engine 4s first due.

Companies went on scene with smoke showing from a bedroom fire with with 1 person reported trap. Companies made an aggressive search and attack and during operation, a large explosion occurred. All members are accounted for as well as the occupant.

Update:
2 members were seen at a local hospital and have been released.
