New York State Senator Jamaal T. Bailey and Assemblywoman Catalina Cruz joined Covid survivors and their families to support Bill A7134/S6592, proposed legislation to establish the New York COVID-19 Children's Fund Program or โ€œBaby Bonds." If passed, eligible children will receive publicly-funded savings accounts that can be used for qualified life expenses, such as college or starting a small business.

Research shows that more than ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ•๐Ÿ–,๐ŸŽ๐ŸŽ๐ŸŽ children in the US under 18 have lost a parent or caregiver to the COVID-19 pandemic and that these losses can significantly impact their educational outcomes. In New York State nearly ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ–,๐ŸŽ๐ŸŽ๐ŸŽ children have lost a parent or caregiver to Covid.

The Advocacy Day was be led by Covid Survivors for Change. It aims to raise awareness for these children and for policies such as "Baby Bonds", and for millions of long haulers who are in desperate need of assistance.

Our small but mighty team rocked the Capitol.

Advocacy day kicked off at 9am and ended at 5pm. Our schedules were jamming.
