These photos are only a few of the many incredible CASAs we’ve had the privilege of working alongside as we’ve celebrated 150+ foster youth birthdays through A Birthday of Smiles.

Whether meeting us early in the morning, late in the evening, or traveling near and far to ensure birthday surprises reach their child, their dedication never goes unnoticed.

We are so grateful for our community partner, Brightside Advocacy - Savannah CASA and every CASA who continues to advocate, show up, and help make these special moments possible.

✨ BAKER SPOTLIGHT: Yessie Confections ✨

Yessie brings incredible artistry to our A Birthday of Smiles initiative, hand-painting details and creating each cake and set of cupcakes around the child being celebrated.

These cakes become part of something much bigger—a birthday where a foster youth gets to simply be a kid, make a wish, blow out their candles, and feel celebrated on a day that belongs to them.

We are incredibly grateful to Chef Yessie for sharing her time, talent, and heart with our foster youth. Every detail helps create a memory these children get to call their own. 💛

This year, our 8th annual Christmas Giveback, The TSF Foundation has 200 foster youth Christmas wishlists waiting to be fulfilled. Behind every list is a child with their own hopes, their own story, and a wish to experience the joy of Christmas. 🎄

Every gift is a small piece of normalcy we can give back. A moment to escape the weight of their reality. 🎁

We can’t change everything these children are facing. But together, we can give them a Christmas moment that belongs to them—one filled with the comfort of knowing someone cared enough to make their wish come true.

At 16, his birthday wish wasn’t a big party or an extravagant gift. He simply asked for name-brand toiletries and a dinner with the rest of the boys in his group home! When he realized he got so much more he was super excited, but when he opened a backpack full of Men’s Dove items, Old Spice hygiene products, and even name brand toothpaste, he got emotional and the other young men asked could they receive a backpack too for their birthday.

Thanks to Café M , we were able to give this young man in foster care something he had never experienced before: his very first birthday celebration. A moment to feel seen, loved, celebrated, and NORMAL on his birthday.

This is what A Birthday of Smiles is all about. It’s more than cake and presents. It’s creating moments of belonging and restoring a sense of normalcy for children in foster care.

There are some businesses that become more than community partners — they become part of your story. Café M is one of those for us.

Café M holds a special place in TSF history as the location where we hosted our very first A Birthday of Smiles celebration, helping us grant the birthday wish of a 16-year-old in foster care. That moment was the beginning of something that has grown into so much more.

So, of course, we had to stop by, enjoy a little Café M, and spend some time at a place that means so much to our organization. 🤍 Book the Tea Reservation NOW! We were able to make our drink selection, a wonderful pesto and hummus dip, charcuterie tower that consisted of fruit, meats, and cheese, pastries, and the absolute best macaroons ever made on earth. Such a wonderful experience.

Over the next few days, we’re taking you back to where it all began and sharing a little more about why Café M is so special to TSF. Thank you Cristine Tindall for being the first to believe in A Birthday of Smiles for foster children in our community.
