Recently, someone made a donation to our organization in honor of a young woman who lost her life to an overdose. That gesture touched my heart so deeply and still brings me to tears.

People often ask me why I do this and why I am so passionate about helping women achieve long-term recovery. The answer is simple, I lost my mother to addiction and overdose, yes, both. What was once one of the most painful experiences of my life became the reason I dedicate myself to helping others find hope, healing, and a new way of life.

There is something incredibly powerful about taking the darkest parts of our story and allowing God to use them for good. Every woman who finds recovery doesn't just change her own life..she impacts her children, her family, and generations to come.

Not every difference we make will be visible, but that doesn't mean it isn't meaningful. God sees every act of kindness, every sacrifice, every prayer, and every effort made to help another person. He knows our intentions, and he blesses both the giver and the receiver.

We are called to love one another, care for one another, and carry each other's burdens. I know that's exactly what my mother would have wanted, and I believe it's what this young woman would want as well. What an honor to have her support in helping someone else win the battle.

Thank you to those who continue to support recovery, believe it’s possible, and help bring hope to families who need it most. 💜🫶🏻💜

One of the hardest things I witness isn't addiction itself, it's the heartbreak it leaves behind.

It's the grandmother raising children she never expected to raise.
It's the parent who jumps every time the phone rings.
It's the family sitting in silence because they don't know what else to do.

Addiction affects more than one life. It touches everyone who loves the person caught in its grip.

That's why recovery matters so much.

Every woman who walks through our doors represents more than her own story. She represents a family hoping for healing. A child praying for their mom to get better. A future that hasn't been written yet.

And every day, we get to watch that future begin.
We see women find their strength again.
We see families start to trust again.
We see hope replace despair.

This work isn't always easy, but it's sacred.

Because every woman who chooses recovery is proof that no one is too far gone, no story is beyond redemption, and no situation is hopeless when people refuse to give up.
That's what keeps us going.
Seeing everyone heal. 💜🫶🏻💜

This morning, I reached out to let the Women of Faith group at First United Methodist Church know we had a new resident on the way.

Within no time, this beautiful welcome basket was delivered.

We never know what someone will have with them when they arrive, but these incredible women make sure they have everything they need, and more, to begin their journey.

Their support has continued to grow over the years, and their love is felt from the very beginning with every woman who walks through our doors. 🚪

A new beginning is a little easier when the basics are already covered! So grateful for their partnership! 💜🧺💜

Hey,

Today, I hope your willingness for change is so strong that you reach out for help, accept it, and never look back.

Give yourself the chance you deserve.

We love you, we know recovery is possible, and we believe in you. 💜🙏💜🫶🏻

The number of failed attempts at recovery does not determine whether someone can recover.

People often look at repeated setbacks and assume that change is impossible. Every person's journey is different, and no one can predict the outcome based solely on how many times they have struggled in the past.

What matters is finding the right support, the right environment, and the right moment of willingness. Sometimes a person needs a different approach, a stronger support system, a safer environment, or simply more time before they are ready to make a lasting change.

As long as those possibilities exist, hope remains.

Many people who eventually achieve long-term recovery have a history of failed attempts behind them. Those attempts were not proof that recovery was impossible, they were part of the journey that led them to the tools, insight, and readiness they needed.

As long as someone is still here, there is still potential for change. Hope is not found in a perfect record. It is found in the possibility that the next step, the next connection, or the next opportunity could be the one that makes a difference.

Never underestimate the power of the right support reaching someone at the right time. 💜🫶🏻💜

Faith and fear both ask you to believe in something you can’t yet see.
The difference is what you choose to follow.
Sometimes all you need is a “let’s just try and see what happens” mindset.
Not everything has to be certain before you begin.
Sometimes the first step is simply trusting enough to start. 💜🫶🏻💜

There are calls I never forget.

A woman calls late in the evening. She’s emotional, exhausted, and out of options. She tells me she's tired of hurting everyone around her. Tired of making promises she can't keep. Tired of waking up every morning wondering how her life got here.

We talk for thirty minutes. Sometimes longer.

By the end of the conversation, there's hope in her voice. We make a plan. She says she will call tomorrow.

Tomorrow comes. No call. No text. Nothing.

Years ago, I took that personally. I thought maybe I had said the wrong thing or failed to connect. But after hearing this story play out over and over, I've realized something important..The hardest part of recovery isn't asking for help. For many people, the hardest part is accepting it.

In that moment on the phone, they can clearly see the wreckage addiction has caused. But when the sun comes up, fear, doubt, pride, and addiction itself begin negotiating. Suddenly, treatment feels extreme.

Recovery can wait another day. Maybe things aren't as bad as they seemed last night.

It's heartbreaking because you can hear the person they want to be fighting to get out.

Then, I think about how hard it must have been just to make that call.

That's why, when the phone rings, I answer with the same hope every time. Because sooner or later, some of those callers call back. And one day, instead of saying, "I'm thinking about going," they say, "I'm on my way to treatment.”

And that changes everything. 💜🫶🏻💜
