Lakeshore Women Who Care awarded our winter grant to Red Horse Center! 🥳Congratulations to Ulla, Fred and team for their amazing and powerful work with vulnerable children.

Since our founding LWWC has awarded almost $300k to local non-profits serving Allegan County residents. If you'd like to learn more about our group, please reach out to [email protected]. We'd love to have you join us!

Way back in Spring, we began a conversation with DeeDee Hanson, a member of Lakeshore Women Who Care, about sharing the Red Horse Story with their group and beginning a relationship that could support our programs.

In November, at their fourth quarter meeting, DeeDee shared the story of Red Horse Center and Horses Empowering Youth, alongside Ulla and Fennville student, Grace - who fielded questions about her experience.

Hearing Grace share her thoughts, with calm confidence and a genuine appreciation for what they refer to as "Project Red Horse," was a real treat. Her reflections were a warm reminder of why this work is important, and how we can both support and be inspired by the next generation.

It was also particularly encouraging to be chosen as the fourth quarter nonprofit to receive donations from Lakeshore Women Who Care. Red Horse is the proud and grateful recipient of $7,600 in support of Horses Empowering Youth. It was a tremendous boost to our Fall Support Drive, and essential for the 2024/25 school year.

We are also grateful for the many conversations and relationships that have been started through the meetings and introductions we've been a part of. What a great reminder of the strength and warmth of community support!

Lakeshore Women Who Care is a group of local women who care deeply about supporting the non-profits working and serving in our community. They meet four times per year to learn about the work and the needs of local Allegan County non-profits.

Women of Allegan County are invited to join their group and help make a difference. You're welcome to attend one of their meetings to check it out and learn more. We'll be back at their March 13th meeting to give an update on the HEY program and share our thanks once again. Check out their page to connect, or let us know and we'll make an introduction.

Last week, Susan and Judy made a trip through the snow to warm our hearts with their donations.

THANK YOU WOMEN WHO CARE!!!
