Next week, join us for Youth MOVE's October session of the National Youth Peer Support Continued Learning & Connection Series!

Next session: October 20th at 2pm PT / 5pm ET

These offerings are FREE to participants and designed to support intentional networking and the ongoing building of youth peer support community through 90-minute facilitated virtual sessions.

Congratulations to our Tribal Chapter, Sequoyah High School Youth MOVE (SHSYM), on their incredible 10-year achievement!!

"Sequoyah High School began in 2016 as an objective under the Garrett Lee Smith adolescent su***de prevention grant administered by the Cherokee Nation Behavioral Health department. The chapter began under the name Native Youth MOVE Heroes. In 2021 the chapter name was changed to Sequoyah High School Youth MOVE ( SHSYM ). As the GLS grant ended in spring of 2024, the chapter became an official school organization.

We are a tribal high school located in Tahlequah, Okla. SHSYM membership is open to all high school students attended SHS. Our membership continues to grow as we have up to 25 active members. Our mission statement : To promote and support student wellbeing through school wide activities and initiatives that focus on the social and emotional factors the effect us at SHS students. Some of our events include : Hello Week, Teen su***de and awareness month, drug and alcohol prevention, teen dating violence awareness and prevention and Children’s mental health awareness day."
