Investing in our team means investing in the people we serve. 💙

This week, our entire Harvest House team came together as our Executive Team rolled out our continued professional development plan; an ongoing commitment to giving our staff the knowledge, tools, and support they need to do this work well.

An important part of that work will be continued training in trauma-informed care, developed and led by Wellness Within Reach Program Director Dr. John Lopez and Cynthia Casanova, LMHC. Understanding how trauma shapes the lives of the people we serve helps us respond with greater compassion, intention, and care.

And because strong teams are built on more than training, we made plenty of room for connecting, team building, food, and a little fun together. 🧡

We were pleased to welcome Mark Cohen of Capstan Financial Consulting Group for a tour of Harvest House. Mark is helping us build relationships with estate-planning professionals so individuals and families who want to make a lasting difference can learn how to include Harvest House in their legacy plans.

🎓 A very special congratulations to Dr. John Lopez!🎉

This week, our Harvest House staff came together to celebrate Dr. Lopez on the completion of his doctorate degree!

We are so proud of this incredible accomplishment and all of the hard work, dedication, and perseverance it took to get here. It was wonderful to take some time as a team to celebrate such a special milestone.

This generous delivery included 8 pallets of snacks and water for the people we serve:

Please join us in welcoming Cynthia Casanova, LMHC, to the Harvest House family!

We are excited to welcome Cynthia to our Wellness Within Reach program as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, where she will be joining John Lopez's clinical team as we continue expanding access to compassionate, high-quality mental health services for our community.

Most recently, Cynthia served as a counselor at The Peterson Counseling Center at Ringling College of Art and Design, where she supported students through a wide range of mental health challenges while helping foster resilience, wellness, and personal growth. Before joining Ringling, she built an exceptional career spanning more than 20 years in behavioral health, serving in outpatient counseling centers, psychiatric hospitals, higher education, private practice, and community mental health settings. Throughout her career, she has worked with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families, providing compassionate, trauma-informed care for individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, life transitions, relationship challenges, crisis situations, and complex trauma. She has also led psychoeducational groups, supervised clinical teams, taught graduate-level mental health counseling courses, and served as a leader in community mental health education and outreach.

In addition to her extensive clinical experience, Cynthia is fluent in both English and Spanish, allowing us to expand access to quality mental health services for even more members of our community.

At Harvest House, we believe healing begins when people are seen, heard, and supported. Cynthia's heart for serving others, combined with her wealth of clinical knowledge, expertise in treating complex trauma, and leadership experience, will be an incredible asset to our mission of helping individuals rebuild their lives.
