Inclusion Revolution, our nonprofit that champions for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, works to find the fit.

Rooted & Rising is a new garden-to-market program in partnership with Mission ABLE, The Haven, Sunnyside, and Hunsader Farms. Participants are planting, harvesting vegetables, picking flowers, creating vase arrangements, working the market, interacting with Sunnyside senior living residents, and building real job skills through meaningful work.

Inclusion Revolution is raising funds to build out the garden plot with protective fencing, raised beds, soil, supplies, and a shade pavilion for participants, residents, and plants.

This is more than a garden. It’s another outlet. Another opportunity. Another place to grow purpose, confidence, and belonging.

The Rooted & Rising gardening program is in full bloom at SunnySide Village!

Today Daniel, Cody, and Kevin prepared and sold fresh flowers at the SunnySide Village Morning Market alongside the incredible Amanda Baar. These Ambassadors worked hard, learned new skills, shared their abilities, warmed residents’ hearts, and sold $53 worth of flowers.

This is what inclusion looks like: meaningful work, real responsibility, and a community that sees the value that our participants bring.

In partnership with The Haven, Hunsader Farms, SunnySide Village, Mission ABLE and Inclusion Revolution SRQ, the Rooted & Rising program is growing. Just wait until you see all the plans for this innovative new jobs initiative!
