Cody Roberts, the man charged with felony animal cruelty for injuring and torturing a wolf with a snowmobile and bringing the live, muzzled animal into a bar is now asking the court to dismiss his case.

His argument? That Wyoming law gives him a “blanket license” to harm predators “in any manner whatsoever.”

This was cruelty. It was public, deliberate, and indefensible. Allowing this case to be dismissed would send a dangerous message that extreme violence toward wildlife can be excused through legal loopholes.

A judge will hear arguments on January 28. If the case moves forward, trial is set for March 9, with Roberts facing up to two years in prison.

Justice for wildlife depends on accountability. Speak up and demand that cruelty is not normalized or ignored.
