Veterans For Peace Sonoma County invites you to a film showing and discussion of "Golden Rule: Journey for Peace." The Golden Rule set sail in 1958 to stop nuclear testing in the atmosphere and is voyaging once more to show that a nuclear peace is possible and that bravery and tenacity can overcome militarism. Join us, along with Gerry Condon, former national president of Veterans For Peace, to learn more and add your voice.

Trans Magic: Owning Our Stories of Strength and Resilience

A community-curated exhibit celebrating the creativity, organizing, and history of trans and gender-expansive people in the North Bay and greater Bay Area. The exhibit traces a direct line from the gender-bending creativity of early 20th-century Vaudeville, to the radical resistance of the groundbreaking 1966 Compton’s Cafeteria Riot, and finally to the modern triumphs of community groups bringing joyful connection today.

Join us for a screening of The Third Harmony film followed by a presentation by the GRIP Training Institute working with people who are incarcerated in California. Marcos Morales and Allen Johnson share about the GRIP program’s practices of mindfulness, healing, and accountability in California prisons, sharing wisdom about nonviolence and transformation inspired by working with incarcerated people. The Metta Center for Nonviolence is helping people around the world practice nonviolence more safely and effectively.

Danile Ellsberg's job at the Defense Dept, was nuclear war planning. He came to believe that such planning was "the most evil planning in the entire history of humanity." Join us for 2 short films: "An Ordinary Madness" based upon interviews with Ellsberg at the end of his life, as clear as ever about the need to eliminate nuclear weapons, and "Golden Rule: A Journey for Peace" about a ship that set sail in 1958 to stop nuclear testing in the atmosphere and is voyaging once more to show that a nuclear peace is possible and that bravery and tenacity can overcome militarism.
Judith Ehrlich, director of the Ellsberg film, Patricia Ellsberg, Daniel's widow, and Gerry Condon, former national president of Veterans For Peace will lead a discussion about the perils of nuclear weapons and what we can do about it.
