💙 To Our Circle of 100: Thank You 💙

Behind every door we keep open and every neighbor who finds care without barriers, there's a steady force making it possible—our Circle of 100, our faithful monthly donors.

A single gift is generous. But recurring support is a promise. It's what lets us plan ahead, stock the exam rooms, and say "our care includes you" to every person who walks in. Their monthly commitment lives in every milestone: 20,000+ patients served since 2017 and we anticipate 5,700 medical and dental appointments in 2026 alone.

To every member of our Circle of 100, you are the heartbeat of this clinic. Thank you for sustaining radically inclusive healthcare, month after month. 💙

Want to join the Circle? Reach out anytime—we'd love to welcome you.

🚴 Wellness Wednesday × World Bicycle Day 🚴

Today is World Bicycle Day—and we love how it lands on a Wellness Wednesday! Cycling is one of the most accessible forms of preventive care around: it lowers your risk of heart disease, stroke, diabetes, and certain cancers, all while being easy on the joints and the budget.

Prevention is the heart of what we do. As a barrier-free clinic, we've helped neighbors avoid the ER 91% of the time—because proactive care keeps small things small. A daily ride is the same idea on two wheels. 💙

So grab a helmet and take a lap around the neighborhood today!

When someone's heart stops, the person most likely to save them isn't a doctor — it's whoever is standing closest.

This week is National CPR and AED Awareness Week (June 1–7). Every year, about 350,000 people suffer cardiac arrest outside a hospital, and nearly 70% happen at home. Immediate hands-only CPR from a bystander can double or triple their chance of survival.

We believe healthcare shouldn't have barriers—and neither should the knowledge that saves lives. You don't need a medical degree to make a difference. Call 911, push hard and fast in the center of the chest (the tempo of "Stayin' Alive" is perfect), and if there's an AED nearby, turn it on and follow the prompts.

This week, find a class through the American Red Cross or American Heart Association, and share this post—the more neighbors who know, the safer all of us are.

Our care includes you. So does the chance to be someone else's lifeline.

😊 Today is National Smile Day—and we have a few thousand reasons to celebrate it.

20,000+ patients served. 280+ volunteers. 51,000+ hours given. Every single one of those numbers started with someone walking through our doors—and most of them walked back out with a smile.

That's not a coincidence. That's the mission.

Here's the science: smiling can lower stress, boost mood, and even improve how those around you feel. It's contagious in the best possible way. And here's the mission: at PWMC, care is free of charge, free of judgment, and free of barriers—because everyone deserves a reason to smile.

So today, we're asking you to do three small things:
😊 Smile at a stranger
💚 Smile at someone you love
🩺 Smile because—together—we're building the kind of community where healthcare is for everyone

🚐 Meeting our neighbors where they are. 🚐

This past Tuesday, the Point Washington Medical Clinic mobile medical unit rolled into the DeFuniak Springs Community Center for a powerful collaboration with Caring & Sharing of South Walton and Feeding the Gulf Coast—bringing food, health, and care to our neighbors in north Walton County.

When food assistance and primary care show up under the same roof, families don't have to choose which need to prioritize. That's what radically inclusive healthcare looks like in practice.

A few numbers we never get tired of sharing:
🩺 20,000+ patients served since 2017
💚 280+ volunteers powering this mission
🚨 91% of our patients report avoiding the ER because of PWMC

We are deeply grateful to Caring & Sharing of South Walton and Feeding the Gulf Coast for opening this door with us. Real partnership, real impact, real neighbors helping neighbors.

And here's what's next: Over the coming months, we'll be expanding the footprint of our mobile medical unit—reaching more communities across Walton County and the Florida Panhandle. Stay tuned. 👀

🌱 Wellness Wednesday: Grow Healthy Kids, One Seed at a Time 🌱

This Saturday kicks off National Children's Gardening Week (May 23–31) — and we can't think of a better Wellness Wednesday topic for the families in our community.
Here's what we love about it as a primary care clinic: gardening with kids isn't just a cute weekend activity. It's preventive medicine in disguise.

🥕 Kids who help grow vegetables are significantly more likely to eat them
☀️ Time outside means vitamin D, fresh air, and a break from screens
💪 Digging, watering, and weeding count as real movement for the whole family
🧠 Studies link gardening to lower stress and better mood — for kids AND grown-ups
👨‍👩‍👧 It's quality family time that doesn't cost a thing

Start small. A windowsill herb pot, a single tomato plant on the porch, or a sunflower seed in a paper cup is enough. Walton County's climate gives us a long growing season—let's use it.

Today, we remember.

Memorial Day asks something different than other holidays. It asks us to stop. To be still. To remember the men and women who gave everything in service to this country and the families who carry that loss with them every day.

Here in the Florida Panhandle, this weight is felt deeply. So many of our neighbors wear it quietly—the gold star families, the children growing up with photographs instead of fathers, and the parents who never stopped waiting.

We see you. We honor them.

At Point Washington Medical Clinic, we are reminded that the freedom to care for one another, freely and without barriers, is a gift paid for by lives we will never meet. We do not take it lightly.

To the families of the fallen: thank you. We hold you in our hearts today and always. 🇺🇸
