Join & Thrive was a success ✨ And Bahala would like to take a moment (or several!) to thank the Santa Monica Public Library Santa Monica Public Library 📚  Thanks to the tireless effort of the library’s teamwork with Bahala, the event went perfectly! People were inspired to get civically involved and organizations found new people to help or get help from 💗 This is definitely an event we want to repeat every year! So stay tuned in with what Bahala is cookin’ up and what’s coming up next! In the meantime, head to the newly launched Bahala calendar to see fun, local events 🗓️

Monday evening October 12th, join Bahala as we celebrate the launch of our calendar 🗓️ 🎉🎊  Come learn how to be in the know about where to go in Santa Monica! If you are trying to bring awareness about an upcoming event, come learn how to be featured on our calendar for free 🆓 🎉  We are meeting in the Community Center Room at the Colorado Center@coloradocenterbxp 🏙️ Snacks will be provided 🍿

🏢 The community room is right across the street from Helen’s Cycles 🚲 and next to the tennis courts. Parking will be validated 🚙

Saturday is Join and Thrive and there are countless ways for you to scoot over to the Santa Monica Library’s Main Branch santamonicalibrary 📚 Whether you drive, bike, or bus there head on over tomorrow (Saturday, 10/3) at 12pm to learn why getting civically involved is the best thing for you and our community 🌇 The event kicks off with a screening of the documentary Join or Die followed by a volunteer fair (in the lobby of the library) to showcase a selection of wonderful groups and orgs that you can get involved with! This is a free event and refreshments will be provided 🍿 RSVP on the Bahala website (see below) so we can get an idea of how many snacks to bring! See you there 👀

Are you getting ready for Join and Thrive this Saturday?! ✨ Bahala and the Santa Monica Library Santa Monica Public Library are so excited to inspire and help our community get more civically involved! Everyone is getting so excited for Join and Thrive this Saturday ✨ Bahala and the Santa Monica Library Santa Monica Public Library are putting on all the finishing touches for the documentary screening and volunteer fair 🎡 In the meantime we are featuring another amazing organization that will be represented at the event:

League of Women Voters Santa Monica LWV of Santa Monica 🗳️

The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan political organization that encourages informed and active participation in government. The League is neutral and does not endorse either political parties or candidates running for office but seeks to influence public policy through education and advocacy 👩🏽‍🏫

Climate Action Santa Monica empowers people to learn about the climate locally and beyond. CASM encourages people to use their talents, habits, and passion to help Santa Monica become a carbon-neutral and resilient community 🌱

Last Coffee & Connections Jonathan Bijur, Executive Director of the Rediscover Center Rediscover Center got all of us at Bahala into the spooky spirit 🎃 We walked a mile in the Orb Weavers shoes (all 8 of them 👟) 🕸️  It definitely gave us a new appreciation for the hard-working spider 🕷️ Have you started spotting those seasonal spiders on your walks through Santa Monica? We have seen at least three so far, each one bigger than the next!

Are you looking for community? Do you want your neighbors’ voices to be heard 👂 Then join Bahala and the Santa Monica Public Library on October 3rd for Join & Thrive! A special free event focused on inspiring uniting neighbors through civic involvement! There will be a documentary screening focused on civic involvement, followed by a fantastic volunteer fair! Leading up to the event we will be showcasing some of the amazing groups we have lined up for you to get to know! Follow along to see what we have planned! 👀

Santa Monica Early Childhood Talk Force Santa Monica Early Childhood Taskforce

The Santa Monica Early Childhood Task Force unites parents, community members, and early learning educators behind a shared a vision and commitment to make sure Santa Monica is a great place for young children. 4,500 Santa Monicans under five don’t have a voice, come help them be represented! 👶

Santa Monica Bay Area Human Relations Council HRC Santa Monica

HRC is a partnership of community organizations, institutions, businesses, and individuals that promotes and supports a respectful and socially just community through education, advocacy, and resolution of local conflicts and issues. Find out how you can stand alongside HRC 🤝
