Journey for Change: To Help Prevent Veteran Suicide

Journey for Change: To Help Prevent Veteran Suicide Our vision is to reduce the number of veteran su***des. There are ten times the amount of veterans lost to su***de than to combat operations in the same period.

Mission Statement:
To reduce the number of su***des among veterans by expanding federal law to include a procedure to identify the risk factors of su***de and implement mental health interventions before discharge from active duty.
------------------------------------------------------------

Every 65 minutes a veteran commits su***de- 22 veterans a day. My name is Buzz Gray. Four years ago, at th

e urging of my daughter, I walked into the Vet's Center and asked to see a counselor. It was one of the most important decisions I ever made. Forty-seven years after returning from Vietnam, I was diagnosed with chronic severe PTSD. American veterans should never have to wait for the help they deserve.
------------------------------------------------------------

In the summer of 2016, I will walk from the Veteran's building in downtown Santa Cruz to the State Capitol in Sacramento. It will not be a protest walk. It will not be a fundraiser. It will be a walk to generate support for an idea; an idea that I hope will save lives.
