QOTD: "The great thing about getting older is that you don't lose all the other ages you've been." --Madeleine L'Engle, who made me feel less alone when I was eleven.
And today, on reaching 75, I can honestly say that she and all the other great artists I've been exposed to have stayed with me longer, and harder, than anything else in my life.

There is still time for you to help Village Santa Cruz County run our Community Project, Preparing for Life’s Transitions: workshops to gather what’s most important. We have launched our Village Santa Cruz County fundraising campaign through Santa Cruz Gives. Santa Cruz Gives unites organizations across our county to inspire giving and create lasting change.
Life is unpredictable. A medical crisis, dementia or death can leave everyone scrambling. Critical decisions are hard enough without the stress of searching for documents and passwords.
Our project, Preparing for Life’s Transitions: workshops to gather what’s most important, meets a broad need: It offers a systematic, proven method to organize and consolidate all essential information in one place — hard copy and digital.
With your donation we will purchase a license and materials to run this program, free to county residents. Twelve topics will be presented by professionals in each field, divided into 6 workshops over 6 months. At the end, attendees will have a complete record, revisable as circumstances change, and easy to locate.
Topics covered are personal, legal, medical, financial, insurance, real estate, living options, daily living, crisis plan, home health, hospice and end of life.
Your donation has impact—it not only helps us build momentum right from the start but also raises awareness that Advanced Planning is our power and our peace of mind. Your support today will make this happen! Santa Cruz Gives includes a matching grant fund, amplifying your impact. You can go to Santa Cruz Gives to make a donation. Thank you!
