Exciting news from Village Santa Cruz!
Village Santa Cruz is a nonprofit organization, dedicated to aging better through mutual support, social activities and education. Our goal is to minimize isolation and to maximize independence while learning to ask for help. All Santa Cruz County residents welcome.
Village Santa Cruz County Transitions to Independent Nonprofit Status. Village Santa Cruz County is pleased to announce that we are transitioning to become an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, following several years of successful operation under the fiscal sponsorship of the Volunteer Center of Santa Cruz County.
This transition reflects the Village’s strategic plan to expand membership, strengthen programs, and broaden services that help older adults stay connected, engaged, and independent in their homes and communities.
Since its founding 9 years ago, Village Santa Cruz County has built a vibrant, member-driven network of Community Circles, interest groups, and volunteer-supported services designed to reduce isolation and promote well-being. Becoming an independent nonprofit will allow the organization to build on this foundation and grow its impact throughout Santa Cruz County.
The Village extends its sincere gratitude to the Volunteer Center of Santa Cruz County for its partnership, guidance, and support. Fiscal sponsorship by the Volunteer Center played a key role in the Village’s development and success.
As the Village moves forward independently, both organizations will continue to collaborate and remain committed to serving the needs of older adults in Santa Cruz County.
