We are thrilled to welcome Mena Arsalai to the CAIR-SFBA Governance Board.

Mena is an attorney dedicated to advocating for her clients and advancing justice. Her commitment to integrity, service, and community make her a natural fit for CAIR-SFBA's work—and we are grateful to have her perspective and experience on our board.

Outside the courtroom, Mena is a basketball enthusiast who enjoys spending time outdoors.

Please join us in welcoming Mena to the team.

California lawmakers are considering AB 2664, a bill that could restrict peaceful protest near houses of worship.

The bill would create a 100-foot zone around entrances and exits, limiting when people can approach others to protest, educate, leaflet, or display signs.

Everyone deserves to worship safely, and California already has laws prohibiting threats, harassment, violence, and obstruction.

AB 2664, however, creates new criminal penalties that could put peaceful protesters and community advocates at risk for engaging in lawful First Amendment activity in public spaces.

Houses of worship do not only host religious services. They may also host political speakers, advocacy events, community forums, rallies, and commercial events—including real estate events tied to settlement activity in the occupied West Bank. Community members must retain the right to peacefully protest and express disagreement.

Tell your legislators: Vote NO on AB 2664.

The Bay Area is home to so many incredible Iranian and Lebanese restaurants, many of them small businesses run by families and community members with deep ties to homelands facing war.

As Iran and Lebanon come under attack, our Iranian and Lebanese neighbors are carrying grief, fear, and concern for loved ones abroad.

Supporting local restaurants is one small but meaningful way to show care here at home.
We asked CAIR-SFBA staff to share some of their favorite Iranian and Lebanese restaurants across the Bay Area.

Save this list, order a plate, share with a friend, and drop your favorite spot in the comments.
