It’s almost here! Come check out Showtime this weekend. Friday and Saturday at 7 PM or Sunday at 2 PM, we will be kicking off our Showtime melodrama, The Dastardly Disaster! All proceeds, go to the Santa Clara Women’s League, which will then be donated to the Santa Clara senior center health and wellness programs.

Mark Your Calendar Now for Santa Clara Showtime 2026─ "The Dastardly Disaster" Melodrama & Fundraiser set for March 6-8

Santa Clara Women’s League (SCWL) is pleased to announce dates are set for Showtime 2026, an old-fashioned melodrama entitled THE DASTARDLY DISASTER. There will be evening performances on Fri. March 6 and Sat. March 7 at 7:00 p.m. (doors open at 5:30 p.m.) followed by a matinee on Sun. March 8 at 2:00 p.m. (doors open at 12:30 p.m.) at the Santa Clara Community Recreation Center (969 Kiely Blvd., Santa Clara, CA, 95051).

This is a family event, appropriate for all ages. In addition to a fun-filled show and Olio acts by local talent, there’ll be a variety of tasty food offerings plus an exciting raffle with more than 15 themed opportunity baskets at each performance, all filled with desirable items. New to the raffle this year is a 75” Samsung TV, and there will also be a series of cash prize raffle items. One need not be present to win. Raffle tickets can be purchased by any SCWL member or at the event.

All proceeds from this SCWL community fundraising event will benefit Santa Clara Senior Center Programs with focus on health, wellness, and nutrition.

“We are excited about Showtime 2026,” said SCWL President Emily Adorable, “and we hope you, your family, and friends will attend. Our 2026 Showtime committee has been working tirelessly to ensure the event will be both fun and entertaining while also benefiting programs for our seniors, a worthy community cause.”

SCWL Members were in attendance at the Annual Santa Clara Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony Friday evening at Central Park. It was extra special this year as SCWL Member, Wanda Buck, was formally recognized by Mayor Gillmor for her ongoing contributions to the community and was selected as the city’s Honorary Tree Lighter.

On behalf of the entire city council, Mayor Gillmor presented Wanda with a special commendation that highlighted her extensive volunteerism throughout the community, and especially for seniors. In addition to her SCWL colleagues,

Wanda‘s family was also on hand for the special event. Congratulations Wanda, we are so happy for you and so grateful for all you do for SCWL and the residents of SantaClara.

SC Tree lighting event is tonight at Central Park where SCWL member Wanda Buck will be the city’s official Honorary Tree Lighter for 2025. Event begins at 5:30p.m….hope to see you there!

When’s the last time you performed on stage?

If the answer is TOO LONG, then you should consider auditioning for the 2026 Showtime production!

Our 2026 Showtime fundraiser will be hosting auditions on Monday, December 8th, at 6:30-8:30pm, and on Saturday, December 13th, from 3:00pm-5:00pm, in the San Jose/Santa Clara area.

Rehearsals are Monday and Thursday evenings in January and February, with daily rehearsals in the evening March 2-5, with performances on Friday/Saturday evening, March 6 and 7, and afternoon on Sunday, March 8th!
