Dreams for Schools (DFS) was founded with the vision to make science, technology, engineering, the arts, and math (STEAM) education approachable and accessible for all. Dreams for Schools advances education equity by bridging gaps in STEAM education, with an emphasis on computer science (CS), by working with a range of c

ommunity stakeholders from K-12 students, educators, schools, districts, as well as higher education students to provide educational programs that would not otherwise be available to our clients. K-12 STEAM Classes

Making connections that help create more opportunities for students. đź’™

Our team members Nithin, Kristin, and John had a great time representing Dreams for Schools at the OC Grantmakers / OneOC Happy Hour! It was a chance to connect with fellow community leaders, build new relationships, and explore future collaborations.

Every conversation helps spread the word about our mission to bring hands-on STEAM learning to more students, and we’re excited for what’s ahead!

We’re honored to share that we’ve been selected as a 2026 Samueli Foundation Breakaway Fund recipient! 🎉

This investment fuels the launch of our OC Libraries STEAM Initiative - bringing free coding, robotics, and engineering workshops to kids right inside their local Orange County libraries, taught by college students from their own communities. 📚🤖

The grant funds the infrastructure and tech we need to grow into more branches across the county - reaching more K-8 students in new cities with everything provided and always free for families.

We’re proud to be among the organizations receiving support through this year’s granting initiative, representing $15 million invested in nonprofits strengthening capacity, expanding opportunity, and improving quality of life across Orange County.

🚀 Big news!

We’re excited to officially launch the OC STEAM Libraries Initiative! 📚✨

Our goal is to bring FREE, hands-on STEAM workshops to library branches across Orange County, giving more students access to coding, robotics, engineering, and science in the community spaces they already know and love.

We’re also celebrating two exciting milestones:
🎉 Approved as a vendor with OC Public Libraries
🎉 Awarded funding through the Samueli Foundation’s Breakaway Fund as 1 of just 67 grantees selected from 1,100+ applicants!

Thank you to our amazing instructors, volunteers, library partners, and supporters who made this possible. We can’t wait to bring STEAM to even more kids across Orange County! 💙

🎮✨ Throwing it back to our Spring Showcase at Don Juan Avila Middle School!

After weeks of creativity, problem-solving, and coding, students proudly showcased the video games they designed using Scratch. From interactive challenges to imaginative story-based games, each project reflected the students’ hard work, innovation, and growing confidence in technology.

We love seeing students become creators, not just consumers, of technology. Thank you to our students, instructors, and school partners for making this showcase such a success!
